Turned on the barco this morning, watched it for an hour or so and it just shut itself off. No crackling or popping noise before it happened, it just powered down. There are no lights on anywhere, none. It does have power going to it. I have only had it set up for a couple weeks now so it is still new to me. Any ideas, other than the power supply.
Thanks on advance

Is the standby LED red? If not check the fuses on the power supply.

No lights on anywhere. I will go ahead and check the fuses as soon as I find my tester. Thanks for the info I didn't even think to check the fuses.

Most likely the secondary fuses are soldered in, you want to test all of the clip in ones for continuity, those are the ones that will shut the set down completely. If the blown one (if there is one) blows again, you'll need to get it repaired. I can do that.

The 3amp fuse blew. Tried to order one from an electric company here in town, I will know tomorrow if they can get one without costing too much. They said it could be one of those minimum order deals and I really don't want to pay for more than I need, ya know.
The fuse is a 3.15amp ceramic, would a 3amp slow blow glass fuse work.
The main AC fuses have been replaced already (not by me) so why would you not replace the others at the same time, silly.

If the _original_ fuse was a glass type "slow" one then that is what you should use. You shouldn't use any other fuse then what it was original made for, no matter what kind is there now.
And fuses aren't supposed to be a cost consern, they should be cheap like a dussin a dime, like. Even for our "old" CRT sets.
