I swear if it wasn't for bad luck I would have none at all. I can't take this sh*t anymore Evil or Very Mad

The past 6 months has been a bad experience for me in general in the crt world.

1. Buy a Barco 1101 PROJECTOR SMASHED IN SHIPPING 6 MONTHS TO GET REIMBURSED

2. PS3 20 GIG dies lost reciept so now must pay 150.00 to get refurbished {my fault Embarassed }

3. Buy Barco Retro 808 Graphics but come to find out it is not a graphics but a Data Evil or Very Mad Which means no 120mhz neck cards or newer circuitry. (Has black scan line in middle on 720p or 1080i but not 480p Question 12-12-07)

4. Buy a Moome EXThd box and is DOA are you freakin kiddin me come to find this out tonight as I try to hook it up 340.00
now I must spend money to ship back and hope it works in return. Maybe my luck is changing just got back from radio shack with new power supply and all work fine with the Moome Very Happy

5. Asus commando motherboard just died send off for another one. 12-11-07

I thought this stuff only happened in 3's. Thanks for letting me blow off steam. I hope my luck changes real soon!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Greg,

Dark side...
I'll try to make you feel not so alone!!!
Couple of weeks ago I'm setting up my 8500 and the remote starts screwing up, think I need a remote and IR receiver.
Can't seem to find them.
Couple of days later wife backs my pick up into her van. ( couple of grand to van, pick up ok).
Couple of days later I get dreaded spot kill on my green tube with only 200 hrs. WTF.

Now the kicker.... spent a shiiiitload on my theater, took 5 years to build, just about finished when I herneated a disk and tore my syatic nerve. Now everytime I sit I'm in pain....., I am so enjoying my time in the theater!!!

Your not alone!

Now the brite side...
Got a job, don't have the big "C", and as of this minute I'm not starring at roots Laughing
It's all good!!

Jim

PS ... don't sweat the small stuff!!!

On the positive side, you got a swell set of tubes from me (right?) and found some decent LC lenses (also from me) for your retro project.

Guess what? I have a set of 120Mhz neck cards from a Barco 1208s/2 that maybe I won't be doing anything with. Wanna discuss?

I feel your pain. I have had two back surgeries but now I can see the sky Smile Glad to hear that I am not alone.

Moose I told you to stay away from me Very Happy Yes I did get a set of tubes but the size of the unit is what I needed. I had a rear projection in the wall built in and this retro fits flush so when I box it in there will be no projector. I purchased the unit to use not just for the tubes. If I wanted tubes I wouldn't have paid for the extra shipping cost. Curt been very good about walking me thru the steps to trouble shoot so if I list the issues I am having maybe you guys can help me and Curt out. Curt also said he would mod my Sony 120mhz boards for me which I have a spare set. The lc conversion would be for the graphics which is why I needed the plate and lc housings winter project.

Have finally got the picture in the 90% and am quite happy for now.

The whole problem was a HD215 lens would not focus so I bought another one now green is fine!

Between GAIN,G2,CUTOFF I figured out that if I get rid of all the distortion in the image it crushes the blacks so I muswt live with a few lines.

Question Why on 480p I have no scanline going across the center of the screen but on
720p or 1080I The image has a solid black line going thru the middle. Other than that the image is good.
What board could cause this to happen.

Thanks

Yes, you are using too much geometry correction. This black line is called the Barco Line of Coincidence. Usually, this happens when your projector is not level, or if the deflection coils are not level with the projector (I assume the screen is level too). I have seen this numerous times. Just try to set your projector up more carefully and this will get rid of the annoying line...

Thanks Spotmatic. Thumbs Up The projector is level but I need to adjust the coils. It is always something That I forget.

What about the noise in the image?

Thanks

When I adjust the picture with the gain and cut off and then set g2 the picture is crushed or dark but the horizontal distortion is gone. When I set the above to where the picture looks it's best without crushed or dark picture you cannot set G2 for the light to go off but the picture looks better but then I get the scan lines. This is the last piece of the puzzle.

Thanks Greg

Merry Christmas everyone and thanks for the help with my retro this past month. I have worked with this projector
and never gave up on trying to get a great image out of it.

I was hard at work and thought I had the picture about as good as it was going to get then snap Surprised Scared the sh*t out of me. It was the blue tube letting off a liitle pissed off energy. It probabaly sick of me screwing with the projector. The noise and distortion problem I was having is now gone Thumbs Up I have contrast at 41 and brightness at 45 on a 12 foot screen and couldn't be happier. I was so obsessed with getting it right because I only sit back 12 foot from the screen Mr. Green

Thanks again for the help!

This was the contamination I was suspecting, it finally cleared itself. Are we good on the set now save for the neck board mods? Do you still want another one?
