What are recommended gain for a crt pj?
I think i have 1.3-1.4 gain on my present screen. (old euroscreen, bought from bjurab before it was euroscreen)
All screens i can find now are either 0.8-1.1 OR 2.0 gain.
Gain 2 must be too much??

I bought a multibracket screen with gain 1.1, but i think must be wrong. I guess it is gain 2.1 instead.
The screen is glassbeaded and glitters a lot even without projected image.
I get horrible hotspotting and can't move more than 30-40cm sideways to see the image get darker at the sides.
I compare to my old gain 1.4 screen.

Glass beaded screen have a high gain and should not be used with CRT unless you are going to curve them.
Do a google search for Torus screen.
Or change to a different fabric.
Generally the glass beaded screen were ment for film projection or slide to enhance the image.

I use 1.0 gain on my 1208 and it's perfectly bright for me. I have 100% control of ambient light and I dim lights like a theatre. Contrast and brightness are around 50 for both.

I use a 1.5 gain Hurley and I love it, no hot spotting either.
