When i use 1080p with the new moome ext hdmi on my Sony G70, i experience this halo ringing on test pattern DVE. It does not happen with 1080i setting only happens with 1080p settings. It does not happen when i use 1080p on my hdfury or the sony IFB-dvi card by moome. Can someone try and let me know if you also encounter this phenomena. I am using the vga output version.

i am using the hdfury cable very very short. Like i said, i dont think its the cable as the halo ringing appears only on 1080p settings, it does appear on 1080i settings.

It would have been better if you posted an image showing the "halo/ringing." That would have been the best way to get help on this.
Normally the problem that you describe is Impedance/cable related. And not likely to be caused from a device that converts digital signals to analog. Cable/Impedance problems are usually seen best at higher scan rates, so the connector/cable being used is still suspect.

anyone using the new moome ext hdmi vga version cares to comment on this edge enhancement on 1080p sources? Do you experience this with the BNC version? thanks

for our guess, the issue might be new chip on the gamma card,
the new opamp has better performance than previous one,
so we decide upgrade it, and we have test with no problem at our side.
we will check this issue with more testing, and give a solution later!
can you let me know your connection?
for example:
DVD==>hdmi cable==>ext box with VGA output==>VGA to BNC cable long 1M==>PG 6000 projector!
thanks

ps3/toshibaXA2 --> monster hdmi 2m --> ext box with VGA output --> VGA to BNC cable using hdfury cable less than 0.1m --> sony G70 / barco cine7

So, your ext box sits next to your projector(s)? They're floor mounted? Just curious.

I am using HD-EXT with Marquee 8500 and have the same halo ringing at 1080p. My connection is :
Sony Blueray ==> HDMI ===> HD-EXT ===> BNC cable ====> to Marquee 8500
To manually adjust the box, turn which side is reducing the gamma control? I turned both directions and does not seem to do anything. How do one remove the gamma circuit? Thanks!
Alex:)
