my g70 shows both. I had to save a the 1080i setting to a memory block, then start from scratch with the 720p picture and save that. The card supports both and both look stunning when they work.

Grimm,
I've got a Sony D50Q with the new IFB-FULLHD and it's great! Using it with DirectTV Hi-Def and Samsung Blu-Ray.
This card installs easily, is easy to set up and looks like an OEM piece installed with quite high build quality. Unless you have a reason, *space or are considering a G70 or higher performance unit the Sony D50Q and the IFB-FULLHD work very well together. One other thing, I've had the D50Q since 1998 (bought it second hand, manufactured in 1996) and have yet to have ANY failures or hiccups with the unit. This is one solid, well built and commercial grade projector.
*The unit is floor mounted in a custom made coffee table (Draper M2500 screen) so overall projector footprint is important for me. Obviously anything larger than the D50Q would require new layout consideration. Did I mention it's dependability? Just kidding... You could always install this card in another Sony projector if you wanted to later..
With the IFB-FULLHD I have very sharp and crisp 1080i & 720p images with great color saturation and brightness. I noticed that the IFB-FULLHD input (input "B" on our projectors, HDMI converted to RGB) has greater brightness and detail as compared to component video (with the same Brightness/Contrast settings) using the DirectTV HD tuner as the source. The DirectTV HD tuner does enable 720p/1080i at it's analog component video output.
Of course getting any Hi Def is an issue with the D50Q as it is. Most sources today don't allow Hi-Def on the component video output so obtaining/installing the IFB-FULLHD would enable HDMI sources for the projector and is probably the most efficient and cost effective approach.
If you have any other questions and I can provide and additional user perspective feel free to contact me here.

I own a Sony VPH-D50Q projector. Its stated max resolution is 1280x1024@60Hz.
1- How will the IFB-FULLHD unit handle a 1080p@60Hz signal? What would be the resolution that I would actually get?
the IFB can handle 1080P, but for D50, the better performance will be 1080I or 720P
2- Does anyone have a 50Q using the IFB? Whats your opnion on the HD signals being displayed?
3- Is it appropriate to spend $400 on such an old unit?
sure! it is the high performance card special for SONY projector only~
I will appreciate any comments on this.

1. IFB will pass 1080P 60HZ to D50, but D50 will not able handle it, because D50 limit to 64KHZ.
2. I has customers run on 720P or 1080I
3. yes, you will able to see the hi-definition video content through HDMI connection. D50 is a good projector.

I use DVI --> HDMI cable to this card..
As you can se i use a converter on the PS3-side. Will this eliminate the 1.3 performance?

I don't know about the 1.3 performance but I suggest you use a cable to connect the DVI/HDMI adapter to the device.

no problem, but using a adaptor will short the usage of cable length. especially at high resolution.

Sorry about that, now i can see what the ps3 is sending when locked to 1080i:
fH 33.7 khz
fV 60.0 hz (ps3 menu)
fH 33.7 khz
fV 60.0 hz (Blue Ray)
fh 31.2 khz
fV 50 hz (for 720p games)
And yes i think the image fit the screen for the games

Complete information on the changes can be found in the Moome v2 card comparison document (PDF format). Below is a quick summary:
Gamma: Improved Gamma for more linear greyscale (changes suggested by Walter/WTS)

Picture purity: Cleaner/Less noise (changes suggested by Mike Parker)
Super White: Now Supports Super White for higher dynamic range

Manual
The IFB-FULLHD v2 user manual/data sheet can be found here. (PDF format)
Reviews/Testimonials
"Moome's original design squashed (attenuated) 65% of the full bandwidth when running 1080p 60Hz. With Mike's new circuit, the FULLHD v2 now can resolve the entire 1080p 60Hz signal. With Moome's new design his card is the first and only option that can do full 1080p and YCbCr... the image is amazing!" - Craig Rounds, official FULLHD v2 tester, professional calibrator (www.cir-engineering.com)

Use the Faroudja only for older sources that need upscaling like VCR, old gaming systems, etc. Otherwise there's no need for it.

It's Ok
Thank you
