I am about to swap tubes (R,G) with my sparepart BG1208 and a used Blue i am waiting for, and have some questions:
What order should i make adjustments?
tube alignments, focus , astigmatism, black levels etc ??
both green and red show no wear or burn'ins, and the image with these tubes is maybe twice as bright and (with a bad BUT new blue) i have no blue bleeding until contrast is at 85 and brightness 75 (this is in my spareparts machine)
Old blue tube bleed heavyily at over 45 contrast and over 50 brightness in my everyday pj. And overall brightness/contrast changes in the image with explosions and bright images. So i hope these new tubes will fix all (no changes in image in the spare pj with flashes and explosions)

No one? I have got the new tube now. I also need to know how the color temperature settings are made.
I mean the "fixed" settings one can choose. As it is now, if i select 9k setting the blue is up at 95-98%, but on my old pj it is around 50%.

Color balance
Select 6500K and then fine tune picture to neutral grey using red/blue custom white adjustment for IRE80 test picture and custom black adjustment for IRE20 test picture.
If you have problems to see when grey is neutral and you don't have colorimeter, you can try to cover red tube and adjust blue black/white gains so that you get as cyan picture as possible. Then cover blue tube and adjust red black/white gains so that you get as yellow picture as possible.
Pre-set numbers for different ready color balances are different in older softwares, but those numbers are chanced after you adjust custom color balance...
