Congratulations Eddie. Thumbs Up Welcome to the 30 year club. Shocked
It's a great time to be a buyer too. You probably got a good deal unless you're in an unaffected area of the country.

Love ripping things apart <Tim Allen grunt>. I prefer that to just putting on a new coat of paint.

Have fun!

Greg

Hi Guys,

I'm still at a loss and still leaning towards clearing out the home theater. Haven't sold anything yet though. I'm holding on too tight. Laughing

I gave up on the remodel and decided to move in instead, then remodel after I moved in. It's just taking too long to get some stuff done, and there were too many things I'm undecided on.

The biggest thing right now is my budget. My budget allows for me to self install high quality real hardwood floors upstairs and downstairs, then a backyard patio/roof. Both very important to me. But then I can't do anything else, like remodel the kitchen & master bathroom. Sad

But if I go for just a carpet replacement, then I can also fit in the bathroom remodel and at least do *something* with the kitchen.

Decisions, decisions....

My home theater will be the master bedroom for the first few months. It will be unfinished, plywood floors, dirty walls, etc. When the rest of the house is done, is when I'll move everything out and start on the master bedroom.

That looks like the beginnings of a nice house Ed.Smile

I am not sure if you should dump the HT or not. It looks like prices are pretty static and haven't went down that much. Six months may not save you much. If you sell, then you could get a RCA CRT RP from Sams for around $650 to tide you over. A cheap 7" should be easy to get as well. In a year, you may want to go digital instead of sticking with CRT.
