Hi, i have a 9pg with ie7 eprom boards,if i use the system boards(3717) of an ie3,do i have to replace the eproms.also with the 3709deflection boards can i swap them in.the original is a pwc 72137092 versus the new one pwc72137091.

I am doing this because the pj displays a distorted image on progressive signals. Please help me Crying or Very sad

Have you tried to do a new signal entry for RGB using the orig set of boards? When your having this type of problem you want to try different blocks of freqs. IE: 480P, 800X600 and 768 letting each one run out a bit to see if it will lock up.

You have two things that can cause this normally, the system board or the deflection board or even the mismatch of freqs that determines the signal entry itself. Read over the service manual on adjusting the deflection board just so you know what each adjustment does, F/V and oscillator 1 and 2. A weak cap on the deflections osc circuit is enough to throw it out of lock up as well as a signal entry entered that doesn't match the signal properties any longer like H and V sync being different or reversed on RGB.

If you can get it to lock up you should be able to check the deflection voltages and oscillator circuits and or try another fresh signal entry for RGB. You can swap the 1E7 into the other system board if you know it is a good one.

When you say progressive is this anything above the video freq or 25 kHz? Doug

hi,thanks for the reply.Crt restorarion is a lonely hobby here in Manila.

Yes, i have tried to input signal entry. But only signals within 15khz syncs.I used a ps 3 with hdfury,it just came out wobbly with triple images. Its a used projector so i deleted the previous datas as per advised.Progressive signals above 25k doesnt sync at all.

I bought parts from a reputable source.these are the 3709A*(72137091) def module with IE3-1 stamp,3712 c drive board,3717sytem brd(72137171) with IE3 eproms,3719 wave board from a runco ,with a runco sub board (IDP interlace buffer)PWB no.72137192,point conv.board 3718 pwb no.72137181 with Ie7 eprom.also repaired the power supply.

The original boards are all fried ,the wave board was extremely tamperd shorting many boards including the power supply.I got the pj running with the boards above.

The originals are Ie 3 stamped, with the wave board having pwb 72137192 and def board 72137092.

And i added myself another problem i mistaken the old shorted wave board with the new one ,thus shorting the c drive.

It powers up with the c drive disconnected and with the green crt having image ,the r and blue only with the signal text info comes out,i believe only the c drive was burnt.I plan to replace/repair this board of course

What should i do to get it to accept new rgb signal, with the new board *original board fried*.

You probably need a new system board. I can test yours for you (as can DOug) and I most likely have a good working spare.

Few things.
C drive disconnected. Reduced heater voltage for one thing. Power supply connector 1B pin 11 needs 6.3V.

Runco ran under switch level 1 so the wave board may be doing something. Without the NEC controller the NEC PG needs to be in standalone.

Try the IE-7's in the working board but you need to get into the settings to check them. Take source lock off if you get to that.

Signal entry needs to be done selecting RGB not video. Doug
