Can anyone tell me about what the screws do in a Vision 1 that just flop around loose? They don't seem to attach to anything and they don't seem to be flap adjusters or anything like that

Thanks in advance guys

Scheimpflug. A stupid design by Canadians if I do say so myself, but they are VERY important.

Because even stupid Canadians know that you can't c*ck the lens with electronics and still keep the projector affordable. 8)

They even know how to spell "were". Laughing

I've been wanting to answer this for a while.

Why do kamikaze pilots wear helmets?

To cover their ears so they don't hear the bomb go off.

Oliver, I just want to give you a "YOU SUCK". As my mother would often say, "You fall in a barrel of sh*t and come out smelling like a rose."

Guys!

These are are side/side and top/bottom focus bolts; the forward pair (to the right in the picture) are side/side, the recessed pair are top/bottom. One bolt pushes in, the other pulls if needed. Once adjusted, finger tighten the loose one to lock down the adjustment.

I think you should obtain the operator's manual for a Marquee. It's available as a download. If you can't find it, contact VDC's tech support and they'll send you a link where you can download it from.

It will explain the operation of the Scheimpflug adjustments.

You will note that there are two screws in each of two corners. You loosen one, adjust the other as needed, and then tighten the other one back down to solidly freeze the adjustment in place.

One pair of screws is the horizontal adjustment, the other pair is the vertical adjustment. Use the crosshatch pattern when making
the scheimpflug adjustments. Adjust for no smearing in the corners or edges.

Thank you all.. (hehe Walt - I suck but I dont smell like excretement Smile

I got 3 new tubes for the Vision 1 for $1600 AUD ($1200 US) - an old friend of my father who used to install CRTs in Australia in boardrooms. He kept a set of tubes he acquired. First he told me they were for an 8500 and they were a rebuild - but they are 9", brand new in the boxes!! I was hoping they were LUGS but I don't think they are - the actual markings aren't on the box or the tubes.

Took my father a long time to work out how to strip the old ones and refit them but he did it. We haven't fired it up yet though, cross your fingers that it works.

Curt said the rebuilds have red necks - these don't!!

Here they are fitted:
