Ok guys
I need your help this time.
I was thinkering with a DIY sync splitter, I was testing it. Didn't works and now, removed the splitter, the RED horizontal lines at the bottom half of the screen cannot be adjusted anymore.
They're like BOW controls are screwed. If I adjust BOW only upper side of the screen moves.
Well, actually even the bottom side of the screen can be adjusted but only to increase the BOW effect. If I turn the control to zero the lines stop responding one a time: first the bottom one, then the second one, then the third one...
I know it is not clear, I will try to put a photo or a video of it.
Now the question is: how DAMN can I done it??? But more important: how can I fix it?
Can I remove the 21 point convergence card (DD?) to see if it's guilty?
Perhaps I should hard reset the baby...
Otherwise I can exit and buy a Digital one...
Please help! Curt, I'm still waiting for the G90 you promised me help on this and we'll be even!

Update: reseating the cards had no result.
Next steps: Can I run the CRT without DD and DE boards, to see if they're guilty? If not, Y and or DB are the last one I think.
I could make an hard reset, but I need to understand HOW before!
Ciao

This is either going to be the Y board (CPU) or one of the ones in the card cage, or the convergence/V board that covers the red tube.
Where are you located?

Hi Curt
I'm from Italy.
Do you mean DC or E (I do not remember which handle V deflection) can cause something like this?
Can I run the set without DD and DE boards?
How can I done it? R G B signals are straight from SCART, how can a wrong Sync signal screw up an entire set???
Thanks for your help.

As said on AVS, not without the jumper board that plugs into the DD socket on a 1251/1252.

Ok Guys
I'm still stucked with that 1271 and I don't want to thinker with the switch and buttons until I'll very sure on what I'm doing.
For your convenience I put toghether in a GIF the Service manual pages where the reset is explained.
Can someone help me? Seems that something is wrong, Sony say to move the dip switches and restore it at the original position every time. However, on the last step, Sony asks to put the switches 4 and 1 on ON position, but from previous step they has been restored to ON position...
Suggestions?
Ciao
