TV/Projector: All of them!

I have the chance to pick up a Faroudja 5000 for cheap. I'm personally using the NRS version on my Barco retro, I have not tried this 5000 before. I understand it's a pretty late model, one sold on eBay for $1775 not long ago.

Is it still worth something close to that if I sell it?

Also, it seems that www.faroudja.com is gone. It was there a month ago when I looked for some info. Did the company that bought them go under or is this a ghost in the machine? Maybe they are hosted by 1&1? Rolling Eyes

Curt,

It would not be worth it to those that inhabit this site & keep up on all things video/crt related on a bi-weekly or more basis.

Having said that we must all come to grips with the fact that we are crazed & a small segment of society. I have 2 friends in Dallas that paid full fare for the Faroudja 5000's they still use to this day.

They are both blissfully unaware that they could now use it with HD-DVD players & digital device such as Moome's upcoming or the HD-Fury to keep the 5000 relevant.

They would be disappointed that this was the current asking price & then buy it to have as a parts spare.

That is the same processor that Art used on his stack. Excellent 1080i/1080P deinterlacing.
