Hi guys...
My PJ goes off when 1080i is input. (rgbhv)
480p 720p 480i...fine. Error code is Fd. (= When protection circiuit operates for HV circuits)
Strange thing is...it didn't happen before I deletecd all the signal entries.
Since this PJ is secondhand I bought in my country and something might've been done on HV board.
Should I recalibrate the board? If so, could anyone give me an explanation on it?
or any other solutions appreciated.
Thanks

What exact model do you have, are you using a power converter if you have 220V power and are the three pots sealed on the HV board? This would be HV adj, Protect 1 and Protect 2. Do you have a service manual, HV probe and a digital voltmeter? Thanks, Doug

Thanks for reply. It's 1351LC...The PJ is for 220v 50hz use but I got 220v 60 hz here. I couldn't spot the pots through HV board. Isn't one pot for earthing? Well, I've got a digital voltmeter and adjusted voltage in H deflection board recently. When I decreased the width it worked(with 1080i) for like 30 seconds and went off again. Still no problem with 720p or 480p. Does it affect the HVboard? Anyway I do not have a service manual or a probe. Just hope it's not the case I have to fix inside PJ.

The 1351G is the euro model for 220V. The pots if sealed on the HV board will have black plastic caps with foam. If not sealed they will be exposed and blue in color. Look close at the board, it will be lettered with white markings stating each.
What procedure did you use to adjust H width. This has to be done with the video input but usually under doesnt trip if under adjusted. If over adjusted it can shut down with FD from the H OUT protect circuit.
It sounds to me the memory was keeping it running within spec but without memory the default is bad or the projector is mis adjusted on the boards. Also make sure 1080I isnt being sent to the projector in component. It needs to be transcoded to RGB.
Need to know about the HV board if its sealed or not first. Thanks, Doug
