You guys crack me up lol
Just returned from borrowing grampas car,wifes needs a $2600 tranny
I did suggest going to vancouver where a tranny can be had for much less but to no avail
Yeah kal I know it will need to be calibrated but when I do that I want to do it to a pj that has a few good years left
I do have a pg 9100 with mint tubes but I would have to tell the wife I have another pj stashed in the first place
That would be the one if I don't find a green by the next year but I would like more light output
btw I drink more coffee than tweaks parents....yeah,both of em
It would be the proverbial turd polishing
I just wanted an even pic to start with
On another note....I bought a hdfury and a kimcoder like kal said he has and I really liked the improvement but I can't use my hdmi out from my comcrap box even @480p
There is an even better pic when I get an hd+ as opposed to the dvdo hd I have now hopefully
I made a promise to myself that I would not just let this go as my wife(what a dear)gave me the okay to buy the tube in the first place
I've never spent more than $600 for a tv so we thought this would last us for a while but I got reamed and caused her to lose faith in all of my crt aquaintances including this and the other site
I can't blame her for not wanting me to spend more on a better scaler when I don't know for sure if I will get burned or not

I'm not going to get into the argument at all or take sides, but I do have an observation to make.
Transmissions, HD Fury's, extra stashed projectors, DVDO... Man, if your other communications with Doug were anything like the last couple of your posts, I can see how there might be a misunderstanding. I might be confused as hell about what you really wanted, when you wanted it, and what would have made you happy, too.

Well, I for one know Doug to be an extremely stand up guy who has always taken care of his customers and has helped COUNTLESS amounts of people over the years now.
You cant make EVERYONE happy and this simply looks like miscommunication to me and it's ashame that it's being exploited in the forum like this. :^(\

When it's someone you guys don't know, everybody lines up to take shoots at him, without knowing the full story but because it's Doug, you think it all boils down to "miscommunication"" just a little "mistake" and excuse Doug of any responsibility. What a bunch of crap.
As I recall there was another thread started about Doug on the other forum relating a similar complaint. I'm not saying Doug is the worse guy in the world but come on even Doug seems to admit he was wrong. The fact that you have had nothing but great transactions with Doug has absolutely nothing to do with his transactions with others. 99% of his transactions may be perfect but that does not mean that 1% does not have the right to call him out.
Your statements which reads "it's a shame that it's being exploited in the forum like this." is pure bull****.
How long would this guy be waiting if he didn't post this here? Seems he's been waiting long enough. It also seems that Doug needed a little encouragement , a little fire under his ass and this thread did the trick.
I understand defending a friend but you crossed the line when you said he was being exploited. What a bunch or crap.
Try being just as "fair minded" when you don't know the guy.

I've never bought anything at all from Doug and he is not in any way on a personal level with me. I only speak about what I know of him from his years over at AVS and I didn't take a "shot" at anybody. There is a lot to be said about Doug and how much he has provided the CRT community over the years and I refuse to overlook that. Everybody makes mistakes.
You think what ever you want but I stick by my opinion that there is no reason for a thread like this. If he f*ck*** up, fine. It appears to me like they had a deal worked out BEFORE THIS THREAD started that Doug would set up his projector for him in regards to being even steven. There ya go. Deal done. Don't come in here bitching because you've changed your mind and want to go another route now. I dont think so.
Did Doug not have a time frame specified when this would take place? Once again, it appears that this is the case.

Doug's reputation aside, it is hard to give GO SEAHAWKS any credibility given his utter lack of coherency, lack of command of the english language, and complete disregard for even rudimentary grammatical skills. He has handled the situation much like any 13 year old might. Doug, on the other hand, has handled the situation with grace.
Kudos to Doug, in spite of his percieved transgression.

Doug has worked extremely hard for his reputation and it's well earned. He has provided us with knowledge beyond 97% of the CRT forum members at AVS and deserves respect.
If you made a f*ck*** deal and change your mind, accept it and work it the f*ck out OFF OF THE FORUM.
I actually think that Joust should maybe consider putting sh*t like this garbage in check in the future.

I've stayed the hell out of this because I felt it would end as fast as it started. BUT....I like to read...I read everything...even the bull**** fillers that come in the mail (BTW...there's a ductwork and carpet cleaning special this weekend here in Kenosha for only $99.00!) and I've typed my 'opinion' (like I'm entitled to one here) and deleted it many times.. I gotta say, this is all quite childish.
No offense meant Seahawk, but I too have been watching Doug help people over the years when the knowledge he gave for free, many would have never thought of doing. This is a prime example of why AVS is what it is....it's a business. But people couldn't understand it or got upset when passionate emotionally charged threads like this were locked, closed, and banished to the AVS trash.
You do ramble on dude....even you have to admit that. And I should know...I'm doing it now.
Doug has stated his intent to rectify the situation publicly just as you've publicly dragged out your private dealings. It's done. Over. You've achieved your goal. I think you should realize that you've won and let this go.
And I agree with Cliff....nobody should join this forum just for the sake of on their first post bashing somebody who is held in high regard by an exponentially higher number of people than don't. REGARDLESS of what other forums you've spent time in. I have about 1200 posts here and I STILL treat everyone with dignity and respect even tho there are times when I want to just go nuts on a rare few. This is all just plain bad taste and unprofessional IMO.
That's my 1st and only opinion on this nonsense. Keep private dealings private. Please.

EDIT: I don't think Barry (Joust) should have to start doing anything about these threads. That forces him to take his OWN personal feelings into account. If anything...he should have killed it as soon as it started. Same with the CMJ thread should have been. Get lawyers....hire big thugs to kick their asses...but don't bring it out here and hide behind public exposure as your shields. This is an informal HOBBYIST forum...not a goddamn court of law.

People may seem to be hacking but when we read stream of consciousness,disjointed,scattered unrelated,irrelevant spew that could have been written by a hamster on crack, well ...it challenges our neutrality, get it? Doug is a long term well know generally rational sounding contributor to our community.He has contributed a lot and made a good impression on people who do not know him or do business with him. you did not. The original poster might have but seems to be losing "cred" every time they post.

Doug made a deal and changed his mind. That's how this whole ugly mess got started.
I like Doug as much as anyone, but the facts are the facts. I'm actually very surprised by this (tell me it ain't true Doug). I don't think until Doug returns Darin's board and gives Seabird his money back he can clear his now tarnished name. I don't see where any of his answers have been satisfactory at all, or even understandable!
These threads are just popularity contest. Everyone sides with whomever they like the best. Doug is popular, so even though nothing indicates Darin (Darin is well respected and long time member) and Seabird are lying, everyone sides with Doug. I've seen this time and time again. I hope if I'm ever in a court of law being judged by a group of my piers, you guys aren't on the jury! I'd really like to have a fair trial!
It's logic like Cliff's and Willie's that allowed OJ to walk!

Doug says it's his fault. He gave it some serious thought this morning, while sitting on the toilet (where I do my heavy thinking) and realized that all the little details we aren't hearing, don't amount to enough and that he is at fault in the end. Then, Doug goes on to say that if the buyers favorite football team loses this weekend, then he assumes that he will hear 10x more from the buyer than he is now.

My last deal with Doug was pretty flawless. Though as I'm typing this I remember now that I actually owe him a piece of NEC plastic that I'll probably never get to him because I never did find it and never have seen it for sale.
I don't think Doug has ever mentioned that fact to anyone or complained about it. What a nice guy. 
Doug, if I ever see that plastic part available, I'll make sure to snap it up and send it on to you.

I didn't understand Seahawks reference. Now I get it! Misspelling "loses" didn't help (not trying to be the spelling police, just pointing out it confused me).
I think you misunderstood the bathroom comment. I think he was implying he was a wimp--sitting down to pee like a girl. Or maybe I misunderstood that too!
You bring up a good point that I meant to mention: Doug admitted fault, and regardless, Cliff and Willie find him innocent.
I changed my mind. If I'm guilty, I do want you guys on my jury!
So...why is everyone busting Seabird's balls when he's just trying to get his money from Doug, when Doug admits he's wrong?
