So I pull my new Lumagen out of the box, all excited to connect it, and I find out that it only comes with a DVI output. No SVGA output, so I've ordered the BNC option.
So in the meantime, I need to hook up my components which range from VHS machine to HD DVD (Toshiba A2) and Dish 6000
So, for my temporary and permanent connections...
Right now I'm stuck with going component out from the A2 and 6000 receiver to the Lumagen, then HDFury out of the Lumagen's DVI output to a 25' RGB run to the projector (I have yet to see if that works). Oh, I'm running a short 6' RGB cable out of the HDFury to an active RGB splitter, one feed to my ceiling projector, one to my floor projector.
So I'm looking at the price of DVI/HDMI cables locally (screw that, I'm buying online) and I can do a few things here:
Run HDMI to DVI into the Lumagen from the A2, run all other sources into the Lumagen (the 6000 HD receiver will remain at component 1080i output), have the Lumagen convert everything to DVI 1080p out, use the HDFury to convert the output of the DVI to SVGA, then out to the RGB active splitter.
Or
Should I get the BNC option for the Lumagen, run all of my analog sources only to the Lumagen, coming 108-p RGB out of it to one side of an Extron RGB a/b switch, and then go 1080p HDMI out of the A2, to the HDFury, then have the output of the HDFury go to the other side of the active a/b switch and select the A2 or the output of the Lumagen manually?
Or will there be any difference between the two above scenarios?

Curt,
I try to read this now and then,.. but I just get confused.
Sooner or later I'm going to understand it,.. then maybe I can suggest something.

So many questions!!!! You KNOW we're simple folk!!!
First thing I noticed was the use the HDFury to convert the output of the DVI to SVGA above. My reading indicated that the HDFury is DVI to RGBHV and I didn't think RGBHV = SVGA.
But you probably mean RGBHV.
This is your best scenario IMHO.

SVGA and RGBHV are the same thing with different conections.

Curt,
I think I get it now.
I don't think you would see any difference with either setup. Maybe you could try both and see what you think.
If I were you I would use the first option. Doesn't that eliminate the AB Box? That's a good plan. Plus if everything runs through the scaler then you won't have to setup both cases seperatly. (With the second option small changes in scan rate may mean 2 input memories and with 2 pj's it's 2 much.)
