Folks,

I am back looking for help to get a Pronto remote working with my Barco D808s. A couple of weeks ago I was looking for help with an iPronto. I appreciate that many of you took a look at my post, but it was clearly a path that no one had tread, so I picked up a Pronto TSU7000 on ebay cheaply (actually a Marantz RC9500, but its the same device, private labeled) because there are numerous Barco CCF files available on remote central. Several colleagues on this site have suggested the Pronto because it can handle the higher frequencies that the Barco IR uses.

Well, I am stymied. I can't make the Pronto work with my pj. It controls all the other components beautifully but the Barco just ignores everything I throw at it. I have tried all the CCF's on remotecentral with anything resembling Barco. I have taught the device from my Barco remote. The Barco just hangs there ... nothing turns it on.

If anyone speaks Barco IR, the learned code for STANDBY from my Barco remote to the Pronto is:
0100 000D 0000 000E 0003 0054 0003 0016 0003 0038 0003 0016 0003 0016 0003 0038 0003 0016 0003 0038 0003 0038 0003 0038 0003 0016 0003 0016 0003 0054 0003 8EC5

Many of the other code sets have longer read outs, but none of them work for me. Without a white knight stepping up who can give me some guidence, I can either abandon the effort or build an IR sensor connected to my computer to see whats doing (I found a site and some software to it). I am sure there is a simpler fix to my problem, because others are using the Pronto successfully ... I just need to find someone who has travelled this path before me and can give me some pointers.

The driving force behind all this is the quest for a one-button start up for my wife, who is a technophobe. The secret to a good marriage is to make your wife happy and I am doing well except for the home theatre setup.

Any thoughts or encouragement would be greatly appreciated.

Harvey

Turn the project to standby (ie the power switch in) and the led lights up red.

also try to put the PJ address to 0.

Thanks for the suggestions.

I confirmed that the pj was in standby mode (red led on) and the service screen says the projector address is "0". Still no response from any of the pronto code sets.

I appreciate the response.

Hi There,

I'd be wary about the PC route....I know the USB-UIRT will not work with the barco due to a fast time base or something.

I do have a globalcache that i intend to get working with some software (chipmunkav.com) for my touchscreen, but have been a bit lax in getting round to it.

I have got a xantech ir repeater system working with it and a such have the barco hardwired to this with no problems (why use an emitter if there is a plug !) - This at least alows me to point my remote at the screen and control the barco when its in its hushbox.

I have heard that some of the prontos do work with Barco's, but since i dropped my early model (tsu1000 IIRC?) years back and found them a touch slow and expensive, i haven't really investigated them since.

cya,
Lee
