my first CRT projector and i'm happy with the results. not bad for a guy who doesn't know what he's doing and not a lot of space to work with and a old sony 2030q1 PJ.

(don't know if this is the right place for these)

it looks much better in reality.

Nothing ghetto-ish about those shots. Reminds me of my first ECP projector...minimal experience, huge expectations, and lots of fun.
I've since moved on (by not up) to cheap Infocus IN72 projectors (I found a bunch at a ridiculous blow-out cost) and will run them for awhile until I can find a good EM CRT for cheap.

So are you blending or stacking those light sabers? Twisted Evil Probably not I guess...your screen would have to be made of asbestos or space shuttle tiles. Laughing
Sorry. Couldn't resist. Embarassed I don't know what your budget is but EM's are pretty freeking affordable right now... unless you're looking for a niner.

thanks everyone Smile i did recently make an upgrade to HD 6 lenses, much better color and focus, i was impressed by the improvement. i still can't get rid of that blue peaking out from the lower right hand corner there always seems to be one corner that is a little off, but most of the image is beautiful. and umm light saber? hehe i don't know, i just got up so i'm in a kind of half sleep state right now, so i'll have to go back and read again Razz i got this Barco switching thing with brightness and contrast controls on it for cheap on ebay. i was thinking i could tweak my PJ with this sincei my line doubler doesnt have controls, everything is auto. with the line doubler i had to turn the contrast up some. so the knob is maxed out, i know the PJ would go higher on contrast though. i just want to check before i go ahead and use this "Barco RCVDS Quad Remote Control Video Data Selector" i wouldn't damage the projector would i? i don't know much about it. since i have a sony projector. i thought it would be fine since its just RGB. and ps. my screen is just a cheap black out cloth with some black fabric on the bottom to mask out the bars on the bottom, i'm working on the top hehe. prob why i said ghetto-ish. i want a propper screen next....

hehe thats cool. but whats an HVAC? i did spray paint my projector bright red so it looks much nicer than the ugly gray color it was before.

also looks soooo much better since i converted to 16x9. no scanning lines at all. i'm impressed. i guess you get more lines in a smaller area so you get all the scanning lines for your movie instead of black bars... am i right? so its like using more of the frame on film?

well... i had it running for a months now, i just got it tweaked to the expectations that i had. the school where my dad works... they're moving into a new school and he said he found one in a big metal road case. the guy that had it didnt know anything about it. he said if he can get his hands on it he'll bring it home... hopefully i can get my hands on it and its a nice one... better than this one hopefully. because they'll prob stow it in a closet and it will never see the light of day again.. or toss it into a dumpster. idiots moved it up to the new school...

but the new lenses i got.. the one doesnt say SONY COLOR CORRECTED LENS on it. lol i'm a bit anal i guess. i wanted the words on all of them so they match.

Just get the model number and look it up here. It's better when they know nothing about it. If they find you are interested the price may start to go up.
