Hi guys,

Well, I've been lurking here since before I bought my VPH-1252 about a year ago. Now hardly a day goes by that I don't pop in for a visit. So in advance, thanks for all the good conversation, advice, and especially thanks to Curt for having a place where such a good bunch of misfits can share their passion for Mid '90's high tech!

Anyways - I just bought a Denon AVR-3808ci to replace my Yamaha RX-V2500 (it's for sale on flea-bay right now, if interested Wink ). The receiver is very, very nice. Somewhat unbelievably, the sound quality is in a COMPLETELY different league than the Yamaha. But the video, well, that's a different story.

I've been running the 1252 with a PC1271 and an IFB-12 since I got it, and have been thrilled with the picture quality coming off my cable at 1080i. The 720p picture is pretty soft, which I have been blaming on the PJ. Similarly, the picture from my Samsung HD-DVD850 @1080i over component Very Happy has been a little darkish, but not green the way some others had described and very watchable. Well, that is until I put the 3808 into the mix. Now, I have two options - either disable the 3808's built in video conversion feature (which then causes the OSD to be delayed about 5-10seconds anytime accessed @1080i as the receiver has to switch back to 480p), OR turn on the video conversion and live in a world of hysterically bad green push, even on my previously gorgeous picture from the HD set top box...

So, I guess a couple things - 1.) if anyone has thusfar conquered the green push demon on the IFB-12, I'd love to hear what you did... I DID manage to make it "better" by changing the 75ohm termination switch on just the green comp. input, but the picture still sucks for all intents and purposes. 2.) Can anyone think of why this might happen?

Bottom line, if I can't get this working - if anybody wants to buy an IFB-12, well, PM me. I think I'll be ordering my HDFury this week Smile Then all I have to hope for is that there are no demons with the 3808 like some other guy was having with the Fury and his 4308.

Comments? Thoughts?

Thanks!
Will

This story is a common one.. The IFB-12 is VERY picky above 480p... the HDfury is a good move. My IFB 12/1272q combo wont go over 480p without green push no matter what I do.
