That kind of a blow-out looks like it happened while you were plugging the cord in. So, let's see a pic of your hand...

Nah, not as bad as it seems. My charger for my DeWalt was plugged in there, but the plug had worked itself out a bit. I threw the dog leashes on the cabinet beside the plug, the metal clasp fell onto the exposed plug pins.. BOOM!

About 15 years ago an electrician was working on the breaker box at my dad's shop (220 aplenty) and for reasons I can't remember it pretty much blew up in his face. I think he had to go to the hospital, and my dad said he quit that line of work. I can't blame him...

Altogether now....."Eh-bo--nee and I-vor-eee..." Mr. Green

As cartoonish as receptacles look by design, those look even more startled (or is that "shocked") <groan>

That makes sense, An electrician I know said this was often an argument in his trade and the ground down was often considered the best position as the path to ground would be the last connection broken if the cord was yanked down, stood on,etc.

In College (Northeastern University) it was takes on the word "Grout" in one particular bathroom... scribbled in really little letters was "Grout it from the highest mountain," "The Grout Gatsby" and many, many others. High-brow sh*tter scribbles!

At the urinal at eye level in tiny letters it said "look up". A couple of tiles up and one over to the right, it again said "look up". Two tiles higher, one more to the right, and just large enough to read it said "look down - you are pissing on your shoe". I was. Duh.
