Which transistors did you substitute? Were they higher BW transistors?
I chanced all 12 BSX20 (switching transistors, 500 MHz) in driver and in neck cards to BFQ262 (video transistors, 1.4 GHz). That would make everything before VPA13 end stages +1 GHz and it makes details sharper.

2SC4271 (video transistors, 2.2 GHz) is one option, but I couldn't find those from europe.
But you US guys should get those least from www.bdent.com

Switcher need also six of those and some other transistors. But that is something I haven't done or tested yet...
This far I have only tested driver and neck cards with MP mini board as switcher.

Ile,

I checked the specs for the transistors and the 2SC4271 is indeed 2.2GHz (Ft)(typ) and the BFQ262 are rated at 1GHz(min). The A version is rated at a minimum of .8GHz at a much lower price. These look like hefty transistors compared to the originals but the Ic max is only 2X (400ma vs. 200ma). The interesting thing is that the 2SC4271 is way cheaper than the BFQ262 even that it's specs are better so I will order them for BOTH the 1208 & 1209.

Thanks,
Barry

On another topic.....
I currently feed my PJ from a thick coax cable from a LumagenHDP BNC output. I have been thinking I might gain back some high frequency content by running DVI to the PJ and having the Lumagen there with only a 1 foot analog connection. Has anyone ever done the comparison or have any idea of what losses are incurred by high quality coax RGBHV over distance of 25'?

tse made some comparison to avs some time a go, it it could be archived. Scope traces was identical between short and long cables. I think those long cables was longer than yours.
