I would hope not, since the RS1 costs 1/10th as much...
Wan, if you've got a skazillion lumens to burn, who cares if you lose half of them in calibration??

Sorry, I'm not gonna arse kiss Art, (sry Art my wife seems to think size does matter, doh I happen to agree, but on a smaller size, hehehe,) but in a rescent article (in a swedish science magazine go figure) I read that the future of telly is a new kind of technology, called "nano tubes", WTF is that? Is that laser or oled or what? So simply put, in a more neanderthal configuration, WTF is nano tubes? (Since this actually might end up being the king of the hill.)

When I woke today I blamed it on the rather heavy wine consumption. But later, in somber condition, I still can''t make heads or tails on the concept of "nano tubes".

I have always thought that Art had one of the best (if not the best) CRT theaters, but maybe not the best CRT picture. I have never been a fan of AT screens and Art is using one for both the current and next set up. I am sure the digital should look pretty damn good in his new theater. When I saw a DP cinema grade DLP a couple of years ago, I thought its only real short coming was black level. I would be curious to see how to see how much better this pj is than the DP I saw at a lower price. I see that the higher end DLPs are now coming with some a pretty sophisticated CMS. It looks like digital is starting to get pretty good.

You need to come to my place. My setup is in the top tier, not only that, but, damn do I have some serious punch all around. Art was floored when he came to my meet as well as Mike Parker, Ken Whitcomb, and Gino. Oh yeah, this thread was all about the king of CRT video right?
LOL.
I look at it this way. The very few "kings" in this forum are all happy with their own perspective decisions in setup and final output that I honestly would have to say that there is no ONE KING. EVERYONE in this forum is king whether it be a barco data 800 or a Sony G90. If your happy, that is ALL that matters.
Right?

I have three reasons to go to the US (in no particular order)
1. Cedia (don't know if I can make it)
2. Art's new HT
3. Your G90 stack
...but ultimately I concur with you... every HT with screen bigger than say 100" has a WOW factor that is so big compared to not having a big screen that differences amongst different top tier HTs (stacked/blended CRTs, 3DLPs, RS1, etc.) are almost subtle and only really important to a few of us.
I am very glad that you kept your G90 stack and have a reference setup. I am sure everything else has panned out right.. (if that expression exists)

I am king because I own the best CRT projector ever made. Period. Yes, a 9500/G90 stack/blend is better, but ask yourself why they need two of them? Because one is not good enough to top a 909... 8)

Haven't tried yet. It does perfectly resolve 1080p/59.94 in a 16:9 raster however (the scanlines are even very sharp and defined in the corners). But honestly, I probably will never try 72 Hz because I want to keep the source digital up to the HDfury. And all those DVI solutions back out if you go higher than 60Hz...

Not really. Both Gino and myself feeding the DVX 1920x1050p and 1920x1080 @ 72 Hz via DVI with no issues. Imho, unless you are running some sort of frame-rate motion compensated interpolation (very unlikely, I am not aware of any external VP that does it at 1080p), 72 Hz is a must.
