Phil, thats why you send express, because it gives you a tracking number!!!! Smile

As mentioned before, I used to send basic airmail and it worked great most of the time. But towards the end of last year, it seemed that USPS was messing up with all my shipments. Thats when I started using Express only, and it really hasn't been that much more expensive at all. The buyers are happy with it and even though the tracking number isn't as worthy as one from FedEx, it at least lets the buyer know that the delivery was sent, and usually lets you know if it's lost in customs or not.

I've mailed four tubes to Australia just in the past two weeks. The first two got here in like four business days, unharmed, The other two are on their way and he'll get them Tuesday or Wednesday. If there are any problems, I can simply scan my USPS paperwork, email it to him and voila... he will have all the info he needs to get things squared away! Very Happy

I agree! Chris has done the right thing Thumbs Up and should be commended for it, especially after the verbal beating he's taken lately.

I second the no shipping overseas policy. So many things can go wrong it's just not worth the headache.

I think it's great that he's finally doing the right thing but "commended" is not exactly the word I would use for it. Had he done the right thing from the beginning, the verbal bashing would have never happened. He set him self up for it and got what he deserved. I just hope it's over and a lesson has been learned.

I basically agree, but I don't believe in holding grudges. Why should anyone rectify bad situations if no one forgives them? If Chris is making things right, he should be rewarded. A pat on the back is in order in my opinion.

That is of coarse if he is indeed making things right...

The last time I shipped over seas the shipment was lost in English customs for 3 months. No one knew where it was, no one seemed to care. But my customer, who had paid me $1,200 certainly cared. It had all the appearances of me ripping him off.

Maybe it's different for you guys, but everything I sell can easily be sold in the US. There's absolutely no reason for me to put myself thru that again, and I don't.

You've got to be $hitting me.
"Why should anyone rectify?" Because it's the right thing to do. He was rewarded when he cashed the check months ago.
A "pat on the back" is sending the wrong signal to anyone selling anything. It's basically saying it's OK to take someones money that was sent to you in good faith and sit on it as long as you feel like.

Sorry, Chippy don't play that...

Well said stefuel

I would play it cool until the prick refunded the money and then told him where to go.

I would never give someone a pat on the back for trying to swindle me and then getting a dose if the conscience. He shouldnt have done it in the first place.

And i dont believe that crap about being away for a few weeks either.

Be nice and understanding until he refunds the money, then hit him a headbutt.
Thats what i would do anyway.

I certainly wouldnt thank him or commend him.

What a wank3r

You told us that you sent TWO SETS of covers, will you announce the tracking number here?
If you had shipped the covers, when will you ship the red tube to me?
So,I cannot believe you have done a RIGHT thing, you just tell us another lie here.

Scanned USPS receipts work nicely also. I'm sure you kept all of your USPS receipts, right? Even those without a tracking number on them?

I am really not going to go one way or the other, but I have dealt with CJ. He is not the best seller/buyer that I have done business with, but he is certainly not the worst. I can say that there are other people that I would avoid before CJ. Of course, I am sure that some people could say the same about me.Smile I haven't sold or bought a lot though.

There is no need to act the bollix when selling stuff.
Either you are a serious seller or you are not
Whenever I buy something online I pay immediately. Curt and Gary will testify to this. I also expect it to be sent straight away. If I have to wait, I dont mind as long as there is a reason.
I ordered the Oppo 981 with SDI mod from gary a couple of months ago. Gary told me I would have to wait till he got 5 orders. I was cool with that coz i knew what was going on. I Then had to wait about another week for mine coz Gary was waiting for the euro power cable. I didin't mind this delay either.... WHY?
Coz Gary sent me a mail explaining this.

Bottom line:

I will wait as long as necessary if there is a valid reason. Hell, even if there isnt a valid reason, I may understand.
If CMJ sent me a mail saying that he is overstretched and cant send the stuff for a month but has spent the money, I would be okay with that. I may not be too happy, but as long as I know that it will be a month late and I WILL get it then, I can take it and look forward to it.

There is NOTHING more frustrating than waiting for a delivery and getting no reply to your emails.

Its like this:

When I order something online I cant wait for it to arrive.
If the seller is in the USA I expect to wait about a week. If he says there is a problem, then I know i have to wait and dont really mind.

BUT, if he acts like a pr1ck and doesnt send it I get really pissed coz I have built myself up expecting it and it doesnt arrive. What would i feel when i send emails and dont get a reply?

Look CMJ:

You will never be stuck for an excuse if you just tell the truth. So try doing this from now on and maybe people wont be so pissed with you.

As for me, I think you're an ass and i will never do business with you

Please add me to the refund list too. I sent you another reminder via PayPal for $135, first sent June 5. And yes if the covers show I will still pay for them.

I spent three solid weeks on the road last month, in Nashville, then the Fl. Keys, then Guiana, South America. I can show you dated photos and a dated passport stamp. I didn't even bring a computer as until last week I didn't even OWN a laptop. Prior to my
leaving on these multiple trips, my home pc went t*ts up and still isn't back from the dead. (I need to have a nice long chat with
my PC tech about that....) And I WON'T try to access paypal from a variable IP address as every time I do that, they lock me
down and I have to answer all the security questions and other suspicious bull**** and frankly I don't have the patience for it.

The rest, about the shipping difficulties, is quite true, as well. You can believe it or you can kiss my a-s-s right in the middle.
Either way I truly don't much care about your opinion.

So Ben,
You haven't been able to test the problems you were having with focus yet on the tubes you got from CMJ? Are you waiting for the G tube to do that?

Hey Terry,
I tried pushing the center astig to min and max for both adjustments, and once I got what I felt like was the smallest possible dot size (not very small) I went on to electronic focus, but I'm still getting very mediocre results. I have 1292 yokes here that I need to try, but I want to get the yoke harnesses in order to make a clean install. I bought yoke harnesses about a month and a half ago from another member who still hasn't delivered them. I put up another WTB to try and get another set. Unfortunately, waiting seems like the name of the game right now... Thumbs Down
