I must be one of the only people who was underwhelmed by Pulp Fiction.
Ewww, Lemony Snicket. I started watching that with my kids but stopped it about 1/4 or 1/3 of the way through. I said "This movie is just nasty and unpleasant and I don't want to watch it" and they agreed with me. Both of them have read all the books but they didn't like the movie any better than I did.
Hitchhiker's Guide: not nearly as loopy and off-the-wall funny as the BBC TV series in my opinion, but not that bad. I suppose if you didn't know the story or anything it would be too weird to enjoy.

Hitchhikers was typical Hollywood. Write a treatment(15 pages of ideas), get some names commited, get greenlighted, write a script, be sure to include product placement.
It had very little to do with the book.
I like pulp fiction a lot. Its sharply written and directed. I think KB1 and 2 are better. Although it was WAAAAY too bloody and could have been just i movie.

I agree. As Adams said, this book can't be made into a movie. It simply can't. But, this treatment was not bad. As good as possible? Probably not, but the casting was stellar!

Yep! I hated it. Even my 13 yo son who will watch ANYTHING didn't like it. Though it did watch the entire thing.  My wife and daughter stopped watching it and went off to do something else. I read and watched it at the same time. I could have turned it off.

Pulp Fiction - Had never even heard of this movie before I saw it at a friends house (on VHS!), pure greatness!
KB Vol 1 - even better than pulp fiction.
KB Vol 2 - perhaps better than KB Vol 1
P.S. My wife cannot stand any of them! One thing we agree on though is one move we cannot stand...
Forrest Gump - If I go to hell when I die (and I certainly may), I will be in an endless scene from "A Clockwork Orange", where like Alex I am strapped into a chair with my eyes propped open, forced to watch "Forrest Gump". Barf!

well....
adams had a penchant for rewriting the thing for every production. starting with the radio series (not the book  if you're being picky). i have 2 different versions of the radio series, which are both different from the published radio scripts, the books are again different, as is the BBC TV production, and the LP, and finally the movie. whew. that's 7 different versions.
much of the movie came from adams' brain, even the malcovich character. who else would have the vogons flying huge office buildings? sure the story line is adjusted, but adams did the same thing when splitting the 2 seasons of 14 radio episodes into three books.
i do have to admit that i hated the movie treatment of zaphod's second head, but i understand that they had endless trouble with the BBC's special effects for the second head, so i'm not surprised that they tried something different. i just don't like what they tried, but they didn't ask me

Yeah, look at http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0371724/fullcredits#writers -- Adams co-wrote the screenplay. So while it might not have been identical to the book, you gotta assume it was fairly faithful to Adams' vision. At least his vision THEN.
(I didn't like Zaphod's head either)

I remember reading that Adams went through development hell for years and years trying to get it to the big screen, so it's hard to tell how much of it is his original vision. Also no matter how much or how little is left of his contribution any producer is going to want Adams's name in the writing credits just to help sell the film.
As much as I liked the books, I still think the radio version is the best/funniest.

Pulp Fiction is excellent (forgot how good that was). "Big Kahuna Burger, the cornerstone of any nutritious breakfast". I confess I haven't seen KB1 or 2. I'll have to check them out. Thanks!

i avoided PF for years. someone told me i had to see Resevoir Dogs first, and i never got around to that so i never saw Pulp Fiction. then i stumbled onto a copy of it at a used store, picked it up and loved it. great movie.
Harvey Keitel's character had me in stiches. think that i'll watch it again tonight.

Hannibal - might be OK if you haven't seen Silence of the Lambs.
Terminater 3 - (I somehow managed to watch the whole thing, but it wasn't easy).

Bewitched. I was bored and it was on Cable. It was horrible.
Yesterday I watched resident evil, extinction. I like Milla, but this one should have died. What the hell is up with that abrupt ending?
It looked like a half finished movie. The suggestion of a 4th movie is obvious, but at this rate they should have just finished the whole thing off in the 3rd.
Sequels rarely live up to the originals.
Return to House on Haunted hill..... again, sequels don't work well.
Oh there's more. And the studios cry about loosing money to PIRACY??? Who WANTS this crap?
Thank god I have netflix. I only waste $5 a month.

I agree. I like Nicole Kidman, but I could stand "[url="http://imdb.com/title/tt0327162/"]Stepford Wives[/url]" either.
"Nacho Libre" was on last week and I couldn't watch very much of it. I loved "Napoleon Dynamite" and thought NL was supposed to be similar.
