It took no time to swipe-out the glycol, and then do a 20 minute setup. But then lost the image hosting access last night, so started another free trial until I can contact them and get back to my account.

The blooming on Green is gone and even my quick setup makes things look better from my viewing point. I'll dial things in better after I swap out the Green LCP for a matching LUG tube set

Some familiar shots from Baraka

I had intended to dial things in better after putting in a better set of boards, but decided against it for now. Just should make more sense to do so after swapping the green tube.

Anyway, the video chain that's involved in these posted shots (below) are going out next week. They are without a doubt ready to be installed. A quick eye-ball color calibration and boom!

All are facial or close ups for now...

Lol.. you did a comparison with what I posted (above) and you already knowing my setup is in no way calibrated. In fact, both convergence and focus needs serious attention. Yet the shot you posted if all sharper, it would be barely..Mr. Green

Now, posting a calibrated shot in comparison to an Un-calibrated shot was done to prove what?

Let me help you out. I knew you were going to do this, and that's why I posed what I did. Close-up facials are not good material to evaluate a video chain. Fact is, they are more like Standard Definition images. High Definition is not really about sharpness in the foreground. It's really when you're able to see complete detail in all parts of the scene. That is why I've been posting shots showing what things look like in the backgrounds and how well the detail is shown in the entire shot.

But still, you've posted a comparison knowing my setup is limping along and would need much attention before being thrown into a competition. But that's OK..Wink

Oh and what's with the red push over satuation problem with the red?

I had spoke about dialing things in better, to later posting what I posted above. Thanks for letting me know you wear very aware of the condition of things and decided to post a comparison anyway.

You think you could post HD shots, something that will show how well that video chain can resolve 1080P...WHo knows, that could easily be 720P as we know it would even do better on your foreground sharpness comparisons.

Warning the following shots posted below are from a CRT projector that is neither calibrated or properly setup. They just like any of my other shots have been posted from a projector that has not been properly setup. And as a result of that, there are some that think stock neck boards are better.

I'll step things up a little here..Wink

No Darby, sharpening or any enhancements. Straight from the screen as is.

I was going to wait until I got the Green CRT in and got everything dialed in before turning the heat up, but the constant attacks and wrongful claims against my work has caused me to take things to the next level before hand.

This board set is one of two that I'll be sending out this week. And as can be seen, they are without doubt ready and by all accounts, they can't be touched. And these are not stock boards..Mr. Green

Somebody gonna be real happy when the mail man drops these off...

Oh and I still need to dial things in better..Wink

Hey Greg9518, can you post here from the 1080P version of Planet Earth Blu Ray. Would love to see how well your setup does with Nature Scenes and especially that Blu Ray.

Do both close up and scenes showing background detail. That Blu Ray would be the real test for performance...

I don't have the planet earth disc, so until I get that one you are welcome to beat the Apokalypto shot above. MP when you are capable of doing foreground resolution. I will be happy to do any background shots from Apokalypto or Baraka.

Both you and I know, your setup won't produce that shot above. Not sure what projector it came from but it definitely did not come form your setup.

Below is two test pattern shots from your setup. The second one has above it "Finally Converged" I got them both from your posting on the other forum dated April 2, 2017 (last month).

In both the SMPTE shows a roll-off on the top left of the pattern group. But not only that pattern, when I look at the rest of your posted patterns, none of them do well on Foreground shots and is most likely why you started posting shots from Netflix. This is according to you of course. So I had wondered how is it possible for your setup to produce such a sharp image, when none of your other shots are the equivalent. Plus, with that SMPTE pattern on a CRT projector it would be nearly impossible to make happen. Also with me knowing why that SMPTE pattern is as such, and you having LUG tubes with stock neck boards you got ole MP scratching my head.

Oh and concerning background shots, it has a lot to do with several things, with one being the SMPTE and another being that all of your other posted shots seem to show exactly what the SMPTE shows. But not only is the sharpness very different in your other shots, so is the colors.

So with me already posting both foreground/background shots, to include a SMPTE earlier. I think it would be a good idea for us to move on to that Planet Earth 2 Blu Ray. We can wait while your order it, and you should be excited to get it considering with the above shown sharpness, you should do quite well...but I gotta tell you with that SMPTE pattern, neither foreground or background should look good.

Your setup according to you is still holding up from the last calibration you had done. With that, why is the colors so different from all your other posted shots and those close-ups you keep posting from the Apocalyto disk?

And don't forget the condition of my green CRT and things NOT being "finally" setup, I think I'm still doing good under those conditions. And I can do a PERFECT SMPTE, and get good foreground and background detail..Mr. Green
