I have totally rebuilt my computer, and now run a fully modded projector! Finally it works.

With a new motherboard, a beefy cpu cooler, an ssd hard drive, a GTX960 graphics card and new moome v3, I got it to work. The later really made a huge difference in how blacks are shown, with small letters being really black now and not discoloured without that awful dual color that was shown before with the moome v1.

The new graphics card might have something to do with it too, but haven't made any a/b comparisons because it was a bitch to install next to the cpu cooler and all the wires.

The 1:1 looks a lot better and more uniformly grey now. But that's all I know about it.

Thank you Mike!

That's good to hear..Very Happy I'm glad you got that two color problem solved.

That Smpte is well matched (neck boards matching), but it's showing roll-off. That is most likely in your source, something that may be HTPC related. But we'll get to the bottom of it. It's just that I'll not be able to help with the HTPC tuning.

Looking good otherwise. The text is clear clean and sharp. That's a really good sign..

We can take it off line with suggestions but I have a feeling I need to buy a stand alone blu-ray player to get further.

The only thing left to change is to shorten the HDMI cable, down from 3 m to say 1 m. I bought it off EBAY, and it is sturdy and all, but from reading they can cause problems too so I'll buy a shorter one when money is good.

Ah well, we'll see what happens. Thanks.

Ok, let's look at this off-line this week.

A blu ray player would be great, and you can still stay with the HTPC. But use the blu ray as a reference point for the PJ and HTPC setup.

And get a cheap Blu ray (ebay) for about $25.00 to use as a reference

Comparing the 9500 with the max. The quoted shots are from the Max.

Thanks. I have to find Baraka again to make a shot with the 9500 of that ceiling. To be honest I think the 9500 will show more detail but i use standard neckboards because they had higher bandwidth than the modified ones.

I got to be honest with you by saying that my stock marquee looks more detailed than your Barco shot and that with moome v1-something. I did an A/B-comparison and the differens was undeniable in my favour. I wouldn't stick my out neck out like that if it wasn't for the fact that we know one another and you have several vnb to choose from and also have two great projectors and able to compare one from the other. Cameera differances aside and other factors I still think and stand bythat Marquee is sharper because it was so plain obvious that it is.

Yes I agree. Marquee shows more details probable unmodified. But a lot depends on the boards you happen to have. Some are very good. I bought a set of three neckboards and one was excellent. So very well possible that your unmodified Marquee beats everything out there.

But on my defence I watch more things in an image. First there is the focus. When focus is not perfect the picture becomes grainy and I have seen many Marquee screenshots (not yours) that are grainy and Barco is a bit better in that but that shows more in bad movie material. Second is color calibration and of course detail and how shadow detail shows. But after all that I find the most important that the face of Lucy that I see holds some sort of a third dimension and looks to be real in the room. I achieve the last thing with my own mods and after that Barco or Marquee look much more the same just real.

You seem to nail the colors effortlessly every time
and when you posted the ceiling-shot the first time
it made me aware how ridiculously blue my images
is. But I'm hoping that my graphics card had something
to do with it and that my new one will solve the off to the left
blue issue.

He you see that the first 3 shots (ceiling) where Barco?

If I find time I will post some more shots with the Marquee but this is all not so serious for me just for fun.

I hope you will get her running. Feel free to post the ceiling shot for compare. I posted to compare the Lucy shot and it felt much the same to me what kind of suprised me.

Actually I thought they were Marquee shots when you

posted the first time but now your saying they are Barco.

I already posted the that particular image not long before you

but I can do it again when the pc is up and running as it is down again.

I was not so clear. i quoted an old post with barco shot just to show the last lucy shot.

Why not start a thread on the pc elsewhere perhaps we can help you to get an excellent image again?

I'm getting help from MP and hopefully help out on ironing the last bits on why my 1:1 still has

crooked lines at the absolute end of them. But if it can't be solved I'll just have to live with it.

That could be timing numbers. Increase the H sync and/or the V-sync or both.

I could try a bunch of numbers and see.

It could be the firmware for the graphics card too

as I'm sure I've filled the screen before and now can't.

Ironically the the firmware I did use for this doesn't fill

the screen either but was useful for s long time. Or I had it

all backwards and it just was a coincident that it worked before

but probably it has an effect about we're talking about now.

Nash is right on this one. Bent or crooked lines are usually sync/scan/timing issues, that has nothing to do with the video chain.

I will be upgrading your boards, and will do so from that side of the pond. First let us work on the source issues and then I'll have you send your boards to someone more local to you to get a few changes made to them. Nothing bandwidth related, because that should not be a problem. I'll discuss the changes later when I finally get my mini blog up.

Have you giving any thought to getting a direct 1080P source other than HTPC?

Or can you borrow a Blu Ray player to use?

I will see if I can't get hold of a real blue-ray player and a pattern disc and give that a shot.

I 'll get back to you on that soon.

My pc is down again, so I couldn't upload
images taken with my real camera, so I had
to go back to mobile.. but all I can say is -
I'VE BEEN MISSING OUT !!

What a nice clean image 60Hz and an Oppo 103D
along with MP mods gets you.

I think it looks much better now and more stable with
60Hz and seriously questioning whether to go
back to 72Hz again. I think it looks rock solid the way
things are.

The background niose is greatly reduced and almost
vanished and is, to my beliefs, what makes a really good picture.

Of course the number one hdmi port didn't work
so I think I might want a new card from moome.

But holy sh*t! I can't get over how the blue and red necklace
kids come off as. Very vidid colors!

I guess this means my build is almost over and all I have to do
is to figure out how to get rid of Cinavia and how to hook
it up to the.computer.

Thanks again, Mike!
