Three versions finished all at one time. Now it's time to step away from the soldering iron and fix my glycol problem. I'll pick it up locally this week and then get onto dialing in my Marquee after the glycol fix.

Mike.
Its nice to see the way your projector displays colors, its like looking on millions of colors, where standard CRT projectors look like they can only display 6 different colors.

Super Baraka. Looks amazing
About the glycol. Do you have the new bellows? My glycol turned yellow because i did not rub the bellow with soap and alcohol. Now the glycol seems fine after some time.

Thanks guys.
HD is rich in colors, and that require a ton of bandwidth to bring it out in CRT. It's also very important to have good cables between the VIM and neck boards for this.
When I got my Marquee the CRT's were new and had VDC on them. The glycol in the RED CRT started to go bad, and was replaced. Since not seeing a need to replace the bellows, I only replaced the glycol in the RED CRT. I'm thinking now the glycol is also going bad in the GREEN and BLUE CRT's. I'll pick some up this week and see what happens.
Not sure why you would use soap, because you'd want to stay away from using anything with a lot of mixed/unknown ingredients in it. And by not knowing what the soap is made up of, it cou;d be risky for the glycol, because glycol almost reacts to everything. So the simpler the better.
I use 90% Isopropyl alcohol only.

I used green soap that is a rather natural soap but it was really necessary to get some black stuff off. I think others use concentrated soap? But I rinsed with a lot of water and alcohol after.

Wrapped up last night was my final version of the three I had mentioned. I'm calling it my High End 02 version.
It's bandwidth is measured to be well into the 200mhz range. It Does Not use any peaking on the 02 VIM to achieve this bandwidth performance. Likewise it does not use the peaking that is standard on the neck boards. And it has an extremely low noise floor that uses a shorter and cleaner video chain than the 03 VIM, and is a faster and better bandwidth performer than the popular 03 vim.
Super sharp, clean and an amazing low end performer.

Incredible what you have achieved again in these past few months. The 02 Vim might outperform the 03 Vim. At least there are a lot more Vims that can be modified into high performers now.

Imagine that image on an LCD TV with no black level. You would lose the impact of it.

I had a chance to test this very briefly and there's no roll-off when viewing the SMPTE pattern. I ran 1080p/72 at 199.98mhz so this VIM can handle anything we are going to throw at it. Mike has opened up both the VNB and the VIM, thereby getting rid of the bottlenecks.
I even tried the VNB's with an older modded 02 VIM where Kurt and I had tweaked the peaking. That VIM now has overshoot on all 3-channels so I'll need to back down the peaking. That further validates that Mike has really opened the BW flood gates.

A few random shots using my second of the three different version 02 VIMs. This is my favorite of the three..
I'll post back in a few showing what the convergence lines look like - edited grid added
convergence grid center on R/G (Full 1080P)

Imageshack has changed on image hosting. They announce high resolution, but after comparing the images from the original to what I post, the hosting degrades the images. So I found to lower the rez on them, though still degraded.
These few are the last before I'll change out the glycol soon in the green CRT.
