Finally got around to replacing the RGB cables that connects the neck boards to the VIM. I replaced all three using 4.5ghz Serial SDI cable. And in order to make it all work out, I had to use a different size mini RCA for the VIM connectors, and solder them to the connector on the board. The neck board end I left as is, meaning the VIM has 3 very high bandwidth cables soldered directly to the VIM. Going this route afforded me 3 improvements. 1, Better neck board to VIM grounding that once soldered at the VIM end, completely removed an annoying distortion from the image. 2, greatly lowered the capacitance between the VIM and the neck boards. 3, Made for better impedance matching, that improved with the soldering. Truly an improvement over the drawbacks of transferring high performance video over lower bandwidth analog cables.

No, I have Netflix and get Blu Rays delivered, but still will purchase a Blu Ray from time to time. I use the same ones (i.e 5th Element, etc) for their better than average transfer quality.
With all the hype about 4K cameras and how much better things should look, Film is still preferred by the experts, and film is what a lot of the great filmmakers are still using, and they chose film for the Wonder Woman shots I've posted.
https://screenrant.com/wonder-woman-shot-film-grander-escapism/
If I get 20 Blu Rays in, most are poor quality transfer to Blu Ray, so I have been defaulting to the few that has been good. But doing more reading on it, I'm learning more on what is going on in the process of things. So I have started looking at what cameras they use to make the movies these days. I like the depth and transparency that film brings to Blu Ray. And knowing that when going from digital to digital capture, you loose a lot of that... and then there is my cheapo camera.

It's till the Marquee for now and will remain that way. I'll most likely swap out the Marquee after the Holiday Season, but will not spend anytime to setup a G90 just to show some shots for image quality.

Trying to find a better image hosting and also trying Gladiator on this video chain for the first time.
And concerning Blu Rays so far, the previous Wonder Woman Blu Ray is the absolute best transfer and highest resolution image I've seen so far. Detail of all kinds just jumps off the screen. My cheapo camera fails terribly in catching any of it though.
These shots are smaller, so I have to look further

Something different from a total newb here, found a Sony VPH-1252 for $10 at Goodwill and with the help of this site I have it setup (these are 480i screenshots, will get a card for 720p at some point). I am a Laserdisc collector so that is what this is for and what these screens are of (not anywhere near as impressive as I see in this post but good for my purposes) -

Looks great your images. Wanted to let you know that I now have a 7.1 soundcard which doubles as a bluray burner. Made my first rip but so far unsuccesful burning a ripped movie back to a blank disc. It will cost me some money to get a proper software to do so.. but once that has cleared I can use a straight line from stand alone player to the moome! And of course 7.1 option. Spid/f only go as far as 5.1 from the PC.. not acceptable.

That's interesting and good to know. Are you able to burn a Blu ray to your PC?
Let me know how this turns out, I'm hoping for a Blu ray server. If that happens, I'll be able to play Blu Ray movies directly from my Media server, from my Blu Ray player.

Yes, I can burn a real bluray to the PC now. From Hell 2001 is my first. Doing so made me more optimistic about getting 7.1 to work later. I will try fixing my Marquee soon now that I have such great luck with the audio.

Great. let me know when you get back to the projector. Give me a day or so notice so we can put get to the bottom of that problem.
I'll also be looking at the banding problem on the Marquee next. That would be my last obstacle to overcome. If you have a spare Moome, send it to me so I can upgrade it for you.

Sorry, don't have another moome for more work on. Maybe later if I can score a used one.
I'm sorry to see CMJohnson gone, surprise to me and will be missed as he was a frequent poster.

Let's work on getting the projector going first. And let's see what pops up later on this end.

Not sure what you mean by that. Or are you saying I should calibrate the projector for better color accuracy?
