Good post. And that's why MP does not want to work with Fox (which might be the first time he's turned someone down). Mike suggested making some changes but then Fox went off the reservation and here we are now.

Yes I get that and that is not whar happened.
I documented that the boards where wrong before I touched them.
Than it was MP suggestion to work on them under his guidance.
After that I tried a few more changes while waiting on the repair boards.
I never blamed Mike for problems that where caused by me because I only solved problems on those boards.

Initially, we did try to walk you through doing something on your end. But it was like I had indicated previously here, and that was to replace the three gain resistors only.
And from there you went buck wild making other changes, to you also informing me that as a result of your changes you knew what I was doing because you decided to remove ALL of the potting material on the boards.
The new boards were mentioned because of the radical work you had done on your boards. And to prove that point, why would you BUY a second set of boards if only you had done what I asked you to do. There was great contention between you and I over the fact that you "admitted" to making major part changes. And that is how we arriving at you paying for a second set.
And my reason for not selling you the second set was because "I did not want to risk having you tear them apart"
If I thought this was worthwhile to me I would post the emails. But at the same time, I neither like doing that or trying to expose someone on the forum.

Anyway. The picture is great I have to admit it and I am happy now the boards seem perfect to me. My boards where inspired by Mike but have some of my own ideas too.
I think our problem is we listened to the wrong person.
I started changing resistors after someone pressed me into revealing some resistors on the board to him even while I did not want to talk to him*. He also advised me on changing the resistors. Than I figured you trusted him so I should talk it over with you but that was after the changes. You where told different stories about us that we hated you on the other forum etc. I should not have changed things after his advise but should have talked to you first.
It is just so much fun to work on electronics
Btw this whole thing started after he started on the other forum where most of his posts where deleted by the admin because he was spamming screenshots of patterngenerator testpictures. After I revealed that I hacked the vim he insisted on a shootout as he was very afraid people might get better testpictures from me than from him. But I do not have a patterngenerator so he does not need to worry.
*I did not reveal partnumbers of opamps or transitors to him allthough I do have those. I made sure Strid was realy trusted with full disclosure by Mike before I told anything.

About the 'buthering' you know your solder work is not nearly perfect either but I do not care about that.
I took all modified components to anther neckboard to see if the board was realy the bandwidth problem. It turned out not to be so. That made me thinking that perhaps only a few neckboards had high bandwidth capability. To my findings tjat seems to be true. I selected my neckboards from many that I bought (I bought boards from Curt and others all documented). Perhaps working on these selected neckboads might bring me to 300 MHz. But I do not realy want that.
One sincere question to you is how do you manage to get high bandwidth with all your customers with all the boards? I have winessed that the wolfman and I did not get that. This far I have seen only a few people that showed proof of high bandwidth like the screenshot spammer. Removed the rest.

By the way. I took all modified components to another neckboard after I verified with strid that we had almost the same modifications and his neckboards performed good. By example he had a FB where it was removed on my board. Also some resistor vallues where slightly different. So you know I am not bluffing. I do not know for sure if strid has the same opamp as a driver but he had the same resistor vallues and my opamp is a known high bandwidth one. You might have modifications with a slightly better opamp but the main performance seems to depend on the neckboards motorolla transistors and if they happen to be good. I know for sure the peaking on my board was the same as on strid and thewolfman.

i think he was trying to be of help, but anyway and since you like the boards let's put this all behind us and move forward. Contact me from now on concerning your boards and do not post about them anywhere other than her on CP and directly to me. And we'll extend your support and allow you full access.

But what about the neckboards you send me? Did you know they where bad or was there a mistake? I do admit I do not know for sure if I got allthree neckboards back. We talked on this in the email and I am willing to give the benefit of the doubt.

Perhaps the difference is that I told Mike exactly what I did and there I made some bad communication because I should have told it before I did it. But I know for sure you consulted mastertech and solved a problem on your vim revealing info to mastertech. Did you tell that to Mike?

This surely sounds tempting. Wonder if you changed your mind after my other posts???
Anyway yesterday I saw a part of the movie mirror mirro on the wall who is the beautiest of them all. The screenshot revealed some suprising answers in the mirror! than they had to kill the evil witch Perhaps it was jsut a fairy tale.....I hope. She even had to live among the seven midgeds! Perhaps cliff knows where they are.

No, I'm getting tired of still seeing whining about a situation that could been handled differently, and you trying to blame me for your boards being defective. It's really Academic at this point. And that's why I'm not going to bother posting the emails where you acknowledged damaging your own boards when I've asked you over and over to not touch them. I have it in the emails where you actually apologized for not listening to me. And again, why would anyone agree to buying a second set of boards if the person they are buying them from damaged the set that sent to them. And I can also show what both you and I knew once I got the boards from you and one of them I had informed you was different, and that you knew that.
At this point in all of this, worrying what you post is not causing me to loose any sleep at all. If that's what make you happy, you may by all means continue. However, if I see anymore if this nonsense, my offer is void.

Ok. I told my story and you told your story. I do not want to go into detail on your story. It is the way you see it. Everyone can make his own opinion that is ok with me.

I checked my pictures and I did get the boards I have send. There is a dot of glue that marks that board exactly. Glad I am wrong at this.

Hmmm...looks awfully familiar;-)
I'll also add that I tested 120mhz to 220mhz and the SMPTE results were identical across that spectrum. This is a true high BW linear video chain with no peaking distortions of any kind. Really good work Mike

I was supprised that my vertical drifting problem seems fixed and it took a few rubicons that had to reformat. At first they drifted very bad now they seem stable. Anyway I really enjoyed doctor who so I'll post a few pics.
