That's for the compliment. My shots are almost always shown with my projector not being calibrated. When/if calibrated it's a totally different story. And that's why shadow detail and gamma may seem to be an issue.
Well, we can't prove by-way-of the internet which is better. We can only show some of the merits one may have over the other, and that can be subjective.
So that's why we're not tripping on the subject. We prefer to look at things more from a choice perspective. And at times, we do go further and say we're not ready for digital display. And that's why we some times get offended when you and your sidekick invade us.
If/when I go digital, it will be a laser engine system. It makes no sense to me to go with the lamp technology right now, because it will forever be an evolving technology, that will never be able to both show a natural image, nor show the level of black that I'm used to. It still looks way to artificial to me. nd I don't like the idea at always looking over the horizon for something better.
Now if you're content with digital, that's fine with me. You'll never get invaded by me when Laser finally comes out.

Das Bot - 208 min Bluray version.
Some dark scenes became unusually dark and needs to be reshoot I think. Like the bottle scene for instance.. one can hardly make out the label whereas I could very easily read it when watching it.
With this in mind it makes me wonder if the close-up of Prometheus might have come out darker then it should. I never really paid attention on details like that before and the only way to find out is to redo that particular shot and look more closely what's going on at the screen.

the best part is: no visible pixels or screendoor.
blacks are black, the dynamic range of a CRT is just bigger than digital.
theres no point in bashing analog vs digital, the same sh*t is going on with digital vs analog synthesizers on another forum i am on.
both have pro's and cons, i for one dont like paying 5k for a digital PJ which is coming close to decent but it will never be like a CRT.
The only thing CRT's lack is ANSI brightness, then again, if you push 4000 ANSI on a digital, the colors get distorted..
its just a pointless discussion

You wouldn't be able to see pixels or screendoor effects on any of these screenshots even if the fill rate was a measily 1% since none of the shots are even 1920 pixels wide. To notice pixels or screendoor effects on screenshots with a digital projector with 90% fill rate would require the resolution to be more than 10 times the native resolution of the projector, so a 10800x19200, so a 207 Megapixel or better camera would be required and that doesn't exist. This doesn't even factor in any camera or lens issues.
Meaningless with screenshots as the camera does auto-exposure to make black black.

i wasnt talking about the screenshots having no screendoor, i am no idiot and i know you need a really high res camera too capture that,
the blacks being blacker was also about the crt vs digital, i know camera's do auto-exposure.
also we are watching these screenshots on uncalibrated LCD, LED, IPS, STN, AMOLED or even TFT screens, so truth be told, other than looking good they say nothing about the quality of viewing on the projector.

actually watched it on a CALIBRATED monitor, and its blueish all over. might have to adjust your white balance?

Thanks for the suggestion, I think I'll try and lower the blue even more from 55 to 50 even.. maybe that will help.

Ok Guys here we go with some Narnia shots.

I'm using up some Bandwidth here boys !
Here you can see I need to redo the calibration on the right PJ, its a little cool. I had to do it by eye after I fried my CVA and it initialized all my settings and I never saved the last calibration file.
Same here you can see the calibration differences.
