Hello, This is my first post here. Very nice place! Lots of good information found easily without using a search function.
I found this place on google that pointed me to a thread that no other site had come close to.
Has anyone tried this screen with a CRT? Or maybe you remember a post where someone tested it out?
With 10 times higher contrast and twice the brightness it would have a use for home users as well.
info PDF: http://www.supernovascreen.com/flash/Microsite/files/projection_monthely_screens_films.pdf
And the website with video: http://www.supernovascreen.com/flash/Microsite/index.htm
Maybe it would it reject some light from CRTFP? But it would be fun to give it a go.
Since CRT is no longer a mainstream corporate concern, maybe they did not test it out...
I would be interested to know anyway.
Regards, Minty (No my last name is not Tube)

Welcome.
DO a search for hotspotting and taurus screens. Flat highgain screens hot spot with CRT's. That is you will see a reflection of the reg, green and blue tubes in the middle of the screen.
Neat idea though.

Darin and I saw this screen at Infocomm last year. We both found it unimpressive. Darin likes and uses the High Power screen. It is kind of hard to use this with a CRT, though. If you want high gain, then you have to build a Torus.

Thanks for the insight guys.
The outside demonstration video looked a bit washed, but it wasn't a CRT projecting onto it.
I've never seen a Torus before. (apart from one of those old silver all in one Sony units.
I wasn't that impressed by it, but it was very old and small.
Maybe one day I will make one and try it out for myself. I've seen plans for them on the net.
Cheers!
