Pretty!! But all made in Finland??

Valmet Automotive has a plant in Uusikaupunki, Finland. They contract builds for other manufacturers. They have build every SAAB convertible ever made as well as all the Viggens. They also build a good share of the Boxsters built.

Viggen would be nice to have some day, but thanks to Finnish 42% car tax those was about $80000 when new. So here is only few of those locally and those cost insanely also when used. Sad

Well, if you ever get one, be sure to do the chassis mods. That Opel platform SUCKED. Thankfully, it can be improved.

Interesting! I thought all the 80's-era Saabs were made in Trollhatten. Wonder if any of my previous Saabs ('86 900 turbo, '88 900S, '88 9000 turbo) were made in Finland?

Many many were. In 1981 VINs became globally standardized, and the 11th position is used for final assembly plant. To decode the VIN of any SAAB ever made:

Nice blonds, but I think they haven't ever been even near Finland. Laughing
Except Geena Davis who was married with Finn.
