The current Lasers are not the ones on which I’m interested in.

Yes,
But what is so special about laser?
It's not like its gonna be active scanning laser, CRT like.
It's just a light source, just like a bulb or a LED.

What is the problems you hope will be fixed for next generation Epson and Sony laser projectors?

CRT like of new digital needs to be approved every time. As of now it was a disappointment.
Laser is known that it can achieve high contrast and can shutdown when needed.

Lasers just replace the bulb in a normal projector, right? Other than that they work basically the same as standard projectors? They still use LCD panels or DLP panels or whatever to control the image?
If so, I don't get the benefit. Yes, they can shut down, but that's only for absolute black scenes, which basically never happen. Maybe they can modulate the brightness? But I would think that would have the same "pumping" problems as active auto iris.

As far as I know, everything that you wrote is accurate.

I mean lasers DO have advantages. They're much more efficient. So if you want to light up a massive commercial screen with 20-30 ftC, then yeah, lasers are a good way to do that. But for home theaters? Xenon, UHP, etc seems to so the job just fine. Or LEDs if you want to get fancy.
They last longer, though if they cost way more that's not a huge advantage. (You could replace a lot of bulbs for the cost of a laser projector.) The only potentially game-changer difference I can think of is that they may allow for a larger color gamut. If a laser covers the Rec2020 gamut, that would be worthwhile.
But unless you're a "gotta have the latest tech" kinda guy, I don't think lasers are ready yet. Wait 5 years and they'll be better and competitively priced.

The same can be said about dynamic iris, there is some ideas marketing like you to believe, like Glas is better, Laser is better, Metal is better, so they appeal to peoples general ignorance, and spin it to make it sound like its some kind of revolution.
Sadly its not, and in some cases a plastic lens is better than a glass lens, there is different laser tech. some you can argue is worse than a normal UHP lamp.
So if you dont like any digitals as they look today, ill not expect that you will find something within your budget for the next 10 years that will change that.
How do you feel about big OLED screens?

Waiting for 2021.
The Lasers need to be compared against CRT.
If the do not have the advantages CRT is still the choice.

You know, this persistence about the laser, brings up memories of similar persistence from the old days.
10 years ago, some people insisted, that for CRT users, the only way to go digital, is to use 3 chip DLP projectors.
In reality, the picture of CRT and the picture of 3 chip DLP, couldn't be more different:
the CRT had infinite On off contrast, blacks, low ANSI contrast, low light output very smooth texture
the DLP was a light canon, with excellent sharpness, very high ANSI contrast, very gray black and very digital texture.
But people still insisted that 3 chip DLP was the only option for CRT users...

A bulb light source or laser source is the same today. When its still phosphor-based. Its no RGB laser.
So no need to compare.
A bulb projector will have better on-off contrast and to my perspective better at mostly all parameters important to me with a 110-120 inch screen.
Even the JVC Z1 doesn't even come close to the N7 or NX9. But last longer in time and maybe better for other cinema setups than mine.
A Barco Cine9 is for shore a nice CRT, and gives a nice picture we all agree. Most of the 9 inches do if they have a correct setup.

So a picture will show how great a CRT or how great a Sony, Epson or JVC or any other machine is?
But your picture taken looks nice for shore.

I know it's all for fun, but if it's dark/black level of any projector you're trying to show, all screenshots are showing is how the camera does exposure. You can make any image have perfect black or elevated blacks, depending on how your camera's automatic exposure is set, or how you manually set exposure. You can make grey turn to black, you can make black turn the grey. I'm sure it looks great in person however!
P.S. You seem to have some ringing on the left side.

Just iPhone Shots without any additional processing.
Well small ringing is there (all projectors do have there negatives, right ?) but that does not bother me.
