|
|
Hi,
I randomly lost the video signal (black screen) usually when the movie lasts more than 2H30. I have a Lumagen Radiance connected to my BG1209s with a long BJ HDMI cable (around 8 meters). The signal is 1080p72. I read that you need a cable longer than 2m to avoid this issue, but it does not look to solve completly the problem. What can be the cause of this issue?

Could be anything. When you lose the image, do you also lose the menus and test pattern? What do you have to do to get the image back?

No I cannot access anything with the Barco remote. I only can shut it off. When I shut on, the image comes back and everything is back in order.

OK, it sounds like the unit is going into HV shutdown mode intermittently. Check the red LED(s) on the EHT board to see if they come on when you lose the picture.
Regards,
Curt

Well, it was tough to reproduce the problem but it did it. On the diagnostic leds, I have a scan fail led on (red led) when the issue occurs.

OK, so this is on the G2 board, and not the EHT board, correct? If so, then it could be the H width control on the SMPS, or it could be a bad H or V board. Sounds like the HV is OK.

If this is the H width control, how can it be fixed?

THere is a little trimpot on the SMPS sub board that faces upwards, so that you can adjust it while the SMPS is in the set. Turn the set on, and adjust it a tiny bit while the set shows an image. If anything, make the picture a tiny bit wider than before, and then let it run and see if the set still shuts down.
A couple of the trimpots are set with red sealer. DO NOT touch those ones. The one in question is down from the edge of the board about 2cm or so.

I tried to change the H Board, but the picture size changes wiht the other H board. I saw two trimpots on this board. Do I have to adjust them in order to fix the picture size?

The trimpots on the H board move the raster horizontally. The H size is done on the SMPS. There are instructions on the forum.

Just occured to me that we might be talking about different things. So do you mean you replaced the H-Shift and focus board or the Horizontal deflection board. If its the deflection board I don't think there are any user adjustments on that board. However the horizontal width adgustment which is on the SMPS sub-board uses a test point on the top of the deflection board. So which board are you talking about?

This is the H output board, as mention there:

There are two trimpots on it but not on the same card. Which one does what?
Thanks for your help

The horizontal output board is the one that will effect width.

Do you know what are the trimpots for?

I have never adjusted those. The diagram shows some trimpots. One is for Horizontal Liniarity and the other is for Picture Width Limiter.
Even though the width limiter is here that isn't where you adjust image width, thats on the smps sub board as already mentioned. I would suggest that you don't adjust anything on the H Deflection board without the right instructions and equipment.
