Clarence will the Xbox360 play HDV files from my Canon HV20? I am not up on all the video file types. I think they are output to my computer as an m2t file.

I don't have the 360 hooked up to the network downstairs yet and wanted a possible way to watch some of my hi-def camcorder footage in the theater.

Any help on this?

But .ts playback on a $2000+ HTPC is whomped by the smooth playback streamed from MCE2005 to the XBox360.

Umm...ahh...nope. I must respectfully disagree.

I'll admit I've never seen a 360 play a TS file. But it's at 60hz. Therefore judder.

Actually, I prefer streaming via X360 too, due to the simplicity and ease of control. Yes, it outputs 60hz, but that's what the VP50 is for, to take me back to 71.928Hz. Adam Pasey was here before, and was telling me how shocked he was at how smooth the streaming from the X360 looked as opposed to his own htpc setup with reclock etc...

I'm not sure Adam has the Dscaler 1080i IVTC decoder, but yep, he told me the same thing.

It's the VP50 that's smooth, not the 60hz Xbox.
