Want to add I just picked up an RS2 for 300.00 to pass the time until I am up and running again with my CRT. I will use this to supplement the CRT and keep the hours off the crt. Just amazing that for so little money will give you a satisfying image for so little cost. CRT is still the king but really a descent image and black levels for 300.00 is amazing value. The OPPO with darbe and motion processing makes the RS2 an inexpensive solution for a descent picture quality

Oh, they're out there. There's an RS45 on ebay that the seller says needs a new HDMI input board, currently for under 200 bucks.

My guess is that one or both of the HDMI connectors has been buggered by lousy cable management. HDMI connectors are very
weak and frankly I think they're trash. But if you have good soldering skills you could probably replace both HDMI connectors on that board in an hour's work and spend 10 dollars on new connectors.

I'd be tempted to buy it myself but I spent my week's discretionary fund on another G90. Very Happy If I don't sell one of my existing ones before this one arrives I'll have five of them and four working.

Four G90s....I wonder how cheap I could get into a 4K video wall processor and tile four projectors together into a 4K display configuration? As if I'd have a place to even set up the screen....

I'm a programmer by trade and while I would LOVE to have good soldering skills, I do not.

I do. I'd even do the repair work on the board for let's say 50 bucks plus parts if you bought the unit and sent me the board.

But that's assuming that the HDMI connectors are what needs replacing. If it's more than that, no guarantees.

From my personal experience with non-functional HDMI in projectors, it's usually not the HDMI port (people tend to take better care of the HDMI port in a $3500 machine vs a $250 PS4 console). It's usually the controller IC's or other component in the HDMI circuitry causing it to not work. Likely a power surge or something similar (could have been hit by lightning too).

I as well saw that RS45, but I don't have the time to get (possibly) heavily involved in a HDMI repair at the moment, though I wouldn't mind getting a nice JVC unit to play around with and see how I like them. I did get to test drive a X700 4k eShift machine a few months back, that was a sweet unit! (the cost to buy one, nbot so much Razz )

eBay they were asking best offer was listed at 699.00 so I offered 300.00 and they took it. There are so many JVC out there for nothing. There one on there for 350.00 but has lens issues. Offer them 250.00 in private.
