If I may recommend something a bit more cerebral, you would be twenty minutes away from a major classic car museum:

Now that looks sweet... maybe there is something to do in Indiana after all Laughing

Yeah, not to bad there, visiting a car museum, I love museums in general too. Much to see. Museum with a life sized T-rex would be nice. And then hit the bars to hook up with wornout hookers. Maybe even getting arrested and a mug shut!

It'd be fun to have some folks up. But really I say visit Chicago because it's the third largest city in the USA and a pretty hot tourist spot for foreign travelers. Really I think of Chicago as the second largest city because LA is so spread out, where Chicago is densely populated with good public transit like most European cities.

In Chicago you have many choices to choose from: Museum of Science and Industry, Shed Aquarium, Art museum, Navy Pier, Blues and Jazz clubs, Chicago White Sox, Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks, good food, AND.... some crime.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will Google and read up on them. But honestly, I believe the Norwegians are the only ones who have the means to visit Greg and all the nice places.

Guys

My brother has been to the Auburn car museum a few times, he advises:

"The ACD Museum is beyond cool. The cars are beyond cool. To a large extent a floating, rotating or visiting collection that changes. You would have to make a very large donation to get your name on the plaque next to Jay Leno or Richard Kughn.

One of the most significant aspects of the place is that the ca. 1930 art deco building that houses the museum was the headquarters for The Auburn Automobile Co.

Not much else around that area. Southwest probably about 125 miles is the James Dean grave site. North about 40 miles near Fremont, IN, is the Satek Winery and tasting room. Sometimes there are vintage plane rides at the airport at Auburn. Ft. Wayne has one of the largest musical instrument stores in the US."

Just talked to the Sim rep model of demo? He recommends the middle led 15000.00 one. I seen the Lumis and
preferred the Led to the Lumis. This is an option but what do you think?

Well, I have several clients with the Lumis and it's a nice projector. VERY VERY VERY bright as in 80 flt on a 120" 1.3 gain screen bright. I usually tone them way down when I calibrate them, but on 3D they totally rock. They also do well on gray screens as opposed to white. They do really well on ScreenResearch acoustically transparent screens because they have low gain, some even well below 1.0 unity.

The Sim2 LED projectors I have not calibrated yet so I can't say.

I will say that calibrating a SIM2 requires some knowledge, a very good spectroradiometer, their proprietary software, and skill. Also, comparing a SIM2 on the same screen as a CRT is not a good comparison because the Sim2 benefits from lower gain or darker material. Can you get a loaner screen to go with the SIM2?

The JVC will be a better comparison on the same screen because it's requirements are similar to CRT.

The JVC will not compete with this crt and the led Sim to me will look closest to crt
but still is not in the same league but I must be modest and say we shall see............

I have tested the SIM2 M150S (28000$) side by side with the JVC X500 and I donīt have much positive to say about it, but I am 100% sure I would prefer it over your CRT. And when you say it will look closest to your CRT I agree 100% as the X500 was miles better. The M150S has very poor on/off contrast and very I mean very poor black level so on these aspects your CRT will destroy it. When it comes to total picture quality the M150S will win.Wink

And after all the things you write in here and other places I am quite sure I will not waste my time to come to your meet as I already know the outcome of it.

Of course not black level. I bet you also know the new model at 15000.00
looks better than the 28000 with its newer engine. Once you get past a real 20000:1 who cares. We can debate meaningless specs but there is no spec on what looks good in person as this will be shown
at the meet and the JVC will fail you can ask the rep if next year's JVC will
look better. But you are land locked by lamp based tech. Peace out...

Yes I know the 15000$ model also, but I have not tested it against anything. But I liked it better than the M150S it is called the Nero 3 and it is based on the Optoma HD91. It has a native on/off under 2000:1 so where you take 20000:1 from I dont know. Most DLP models has native on/off around 1000-6000:1 and none of them are even close to 20000:1.

And if you think when you get past 20000:1 who cares you just show your ignorance.

And you are land locked with lenses that can not resolve 720p at high MTF... Wink

At least we agree on one thing. See I can be reasoned with.......

I know what fade to black is and have had an X-90 in my theater so I know what the JVC does and your RS600
is not much better as I seen that one. Who is ignorant here not me.... Since I am the only one in the world to do this.

Why not make a road trip to Wolfmans and get some false hope about your JVC.

Blah Blah Blah your funny your so funny. Having seen the plastic box in person you scare me lol lol lol
hence the meet. You might want to move the chair 3 ft from the screen so you can enjoy your digitals
lack of inner space 1D lol!!!!!!!!!!

This is no 909 or G90 so save the lack of knowledge concerning the 9518LC. Also seen Overclockers G90
stack and that was no where near the 9518. Your projector will have a haze you did not know that exists
with it. And the 9518 you will see information you did not know was on the disc that no camera can show.

Welcome to the beat down. I have a free JVC remote for you when you show up as a peace offering.

Please bring your personal JVC RS600 so there is no excuses Mr. Green We don't want any outs
for you digital guys Very Happy

Have a good day.

So your CRT can show details not on the disc, that must be the joke of the century. Laughing Laughing Laughing

CRTīs biggest flaw is resolution and sharpness and most of the fault is because of the lenses and no bandwith modification can do anything about that. So I am not that worried your CRT will do much of a beating.

If you think the X90 is as good as the RS600 you need to think again, I have seen a very good sample of a X90 side by side with a RS600 and it was not very good for the X90. The RS600 beats it in every aspect of picture quality.

I doubt you have ever done a proper side by side ever in your life and the way you speak to others I donīt think I will waste a lot of time going to Indiana to a shootout I already know the outcome of. The CRT will be beaten to death...

There is no need for me to bring my own and if you ever get a JVC rep to come to this (witch I doubt bigtime) I think he will bring a sample that is more than good enough. I could bring my Sony HW55 and it would handle your CRT with ease.

And I actually donīt need a JVC remote as I never use the original remote...

What is the name of the JVC rep coming to the shootout?

I will not give up my source so I am assured a RS600 is there at the meet. I here you can't keep anything private Andreas
so I cannot share that kind of information with you in good faith.

Don't let this moron get your goat Greg. As you can see in his last post where he comments on a part of your highlighted quote he does not even understand basic English. And here it is, a perfect chance to prove all the garbage he and his friends have been spewing out over the last whatever and he CHICKENS out, with nothing more then a bunch of lame ass excuses. I doubt anything he says and that he has ever actually tested anything of substance.

Thanks Mak he is bowing out because it will be a butt whooping simple as that and they do not have the facts and that
is the facts. They know if they see one in person they will want to buy one lol... The Sim Led looks similar to crt but will
be smashed as well and the Sony Has no chance. Since I make a living selling digital I would think I have a good ideal
how this will go down as well as MP and Kurt.
