|

Guys,
is there a jumper in the 909 which forces full fan speed from the beginning ?
So maybe i can put that jumper out for 'normal' operation.
thanks

Oh youre talking about that airplane mode fan
The 909 sound is tolerable until that kicks in.

Soft version 3.11
I'll have to pull out the front tray and check the jumper locations.
For example there is a jumper location to force the SMPS at startup so there might be one for the fans.
As you said the normal behaviour is more or less silent at startup and then when temp rises the fans are spinning faster.

This is my only gripe with the 909s, bloody fan noise, I have mine sealed in a huge hush box which diminishes the noise but man its a pain in the ass to get to them when the quads go. I'd jump on a couple of cine 9's in a heart beat if they came up to replace these.

Isn't fan speed determined by firmware? There have been a few discussions on this matter and I believe the consensus is that fan speed doesn't require any new hardware just the right firmware.
So this should be just a matter of flashing with the right firmware.

The jumper S1 on the focus board R7631395 should be set to +FAN instead of +12vFAN (this jumper is to be found close to the front fans-connectors).
However, if your focus board is the older style R7631391, you won't find any jumper there. This will take care that the front fans won't spin at constant full speed.
On the rear, only the outer fans should spin at startup. The middle one (horizontal board fan) is SMPS driven and will start spinning when the temperature is increasing.

True, but only with older firmware. Version 3.11 will be ok.

BTW these two 909's are equipped with SEMU boards and with HD10R5M lens.
Anyone interested in the lens sets ? I don't have a dome config
Will post in the sell section.

sh*t yeah dude, on that size screen a stack is a must. The pop that comes from it is ridiculous, I run both at 85 contrast and its brilliant.

Yepp, single Cine 9 configuration on 210cm wide screen (lot of punch in total darkness). At the moment it is not set up to the best of his abilities. I changed the tubes with new ones and waiting for a professional setup and gray-scale in the next months.
