I do all those things. Tripod and viewfinder. The manual always come off better when I nail it, but the zoom is a bit jolty and kind of difficult to hit the right spot. Samsung NX3300. I should have bought something else with a much larger screen to look at.

I hook up the HDMI output on my Nikon D810 to an extra computer monitor. Nice big screen to work with.

First things first. You use a different smpte pattern or resolution as Tjeerd does.
Your getting a very poor bandwidth performance, should be much better on a stock marquee
And my advice focus on your focus meaning set your manual astig the best way you can. It looks like you got a lot of horizontal smearing. Also it looks like you got a lot of horizontal noise. The upper grey bloks nead to be equally grey fields. It's hard to judge from screen shots but it seams like there are a lot of horizontal fine lines. How did it preform before your adjustments on the coils setting it the best you could get it?

The fine horizontal fluddering lines are some sort of noise that was there on my previous machine as well. I need to make it fully stock to be able to show if it's still there. But I am aware of them. And I suck at setting magnets, everyone knows that! It's all done quickly by eye and hope they will get better with bincs. They may not.
Bandwidth-wise you are better off talking to MP directly. I have a standing offer to get the last mods like Kurt and others has, I just haven't acted on it.

The fluddering horizontal lines are still there with a completely stock machine. So it must be the my 3 m long HDMI cable, high quality, or moome V3, or my computer. I will try moove V1 later today. The graphics card a new GTX 960 so I doubt that. But the fans on it never worked so I put my own on it.

I've decide to shave off the deflection coil and convergence coil as well. They both can ve shaven with about 5 mm each. Not Bad.
One could also shave off the deflection coil from the front. There are some mm to had there too, but that would be pushing it.
EDIT: That last part wouldn't make it any closer to the tube bell. just smaller. Stupid!

Shaving the front edge of the deflection coil former isn't going to help you in the slightest because the point of contact with the CRT bell is not the front edge, it's on the windings themselves. Don't waste your effort doing that.
I've said this before and I'll say it again: If you want to know where the focus coil needs to be for optimal performance, remove the convergence coil temporarily, which will allow you to have lots of room to see where the focus coil does its best work. Then you KNOW what your positioning goal is, without having to guess, shave, and guess again.

There should be ready too leave the US soon, Greg. I bought it all, even his FY, so there will be a nice set to install.
I was given some extras bits for free to make some alterations to the LVPS too. So thanks for that! I don't know if I can do those changes but as long as it's not to intricate soldering, I will.
Apparently, I pissed someone off for buying these cards, I don't know who that is, he wont say, but I think I have just as much right to own these cards as anybody else. I can't apologize for wanting and buying the best I can for my pj.
Only the Vision One casing have I missed out on, and stuck with a measly Vision Two, but you go with what you have, and it will take some mending and preparing, but since I also ordered the smurf-vinyl wrap the other day, I am commited to try. If it works it could look very cool I think. Very toy like an perhaps even like new. But the fan intakes will be difficult.

The vinyl wrap scares me almost more than the soldereing, because it was costly and I want to make it right. 5m x 1,52 m should last me even the old chassis too and might try that as well. Maybe sell that and make half back? But I had no other chioce but to turn to a Swedish company, as there was no option for Sweden from Holland where I found a really cheap company, I could have ordred 7m from there and still be under current price.
I'm done spending on this pj now, that God!

Sounds like the kitchen sink and good luck should be a nice projector when it is done.

Yeah, he's getting the very best Ive done so far. The set I had planned to wrap the projector up and put the covers on.
He was patient to allow me to duplicate what I'm sending him, and to also clean the boards up good and conceal some areas.
A really High Bandwidth set that will probable do upwards near 300mhz, but I find them to be more precise at 250mhz.
Smart move because being my personal set, they are well tested. And it has the only 02 VIM with clean +/-15 volt rails, to include better really clean +/- 5 volt rails on the neck boards. Just plain SUPER CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm near finished my personal set that's a copy of this, so I'm still good..
I'm finally winding down on the mods. I will only do one of two every now and then from now on

There is little resemblance between the darker blue in this video and the one I wanted and ordered. I looked at the box and it says Hexis 20293B on it, so I must be right, but disappointed with the seemingly brighter blue version I got.
I have only done one side yet, and that took me hours to finish, and those are the easy once too, but corners are very hard to make right. I had to make a patch in a sharp corner too. But hardly noticeable.
I will fiberglass the front soon, and make the circles much smaller and smoother, and aim for the look of a real Vision One. If I can.

Will be installing the new boards next week.
EDIT: The color in the video does look like mine, but only in darker conditions with some lamps on and no sunlight. But still disappointed with the shade of it. Not enough Smurf.
But the seller contacted Hexis, and provided the images I took, for a word from them, so there might be something coming out of this.
I asked the seller for a goodwill, and if I get one I will get the Avery Gloss blue instead, it looks pretty much the same as Hexis, only better still.

I also bought this very cool vinyl wrap for a PS4 I don't even have! I just had to have it. So this means I'll soon become a hard core gamer too. The upside on that will be a blu-ray player that comes with it. It'll fit right in. To bad PS4 will launch a 4K PS4 though, within a year maybe, but I can't wait that long... because I wanna game God dammit !!

I changed my mind, I love it now. It all depends on how the light falls on the damn thing to me love it or hate it.
I took a pix from my Samsung this time, and not the mobile and with different lightning, and now I got the real shade pretty close. Looking at now, and comparing it to the image, it is actually darker than the image and very video-like now so I'm good now.
Though, when i almost finished the top, that I am doing in sections, I noticed I like the fan intake completely shut, as I like the look of the ribs shining thru. I have extra fans facing downwards underneath anyway so this intake does basically nothing. Only, I had planned to slice them open and didn't make all the wrinkles go away in that area. Ah well.. maybe open just two of them and reposition the vinyl where it is wrinkly and be done with it.

Sometimes you just get lucky. I got some glue right under where the Pininfarina sticker ended up, making it wrinkly, and I was dwelling on have to redo half the job I already done, or leave it like that.
Meaning, I would have to slice the wrapping into two halves, because there was no way in hell I was going to redo all of it over a small little bit that got wrinkly, unrepairable.
And then I went.. OMG! I have a Pininfarina sticker in the cubbord! I bought it off Ebay long ago in the event that I would do the wrapping, and today was the day. It couldn't have been more appropriate to put it there, and right smack where I needed it to be.

You definitely do not want to cover any vents. Marquees need COOLING.
They're already the least cooled (and thus quietest) CRT projectors on the market. They can not
stand having their airflow further reduced.
Any photographer or artist will tell you, light affects color. When choosing a color you must take lighting
into consideration or you won't get what you want.
That blue GT3 is SICK. I really would like a 911 but that requires something I'm a bit short on...MONEY.
