I have an older CA-1. I set the contrast and bright using DVE, then setup the probe center screen facing the CRT. The x,y values are in the 350 ish range. No matter what I set the red or blue to (drive) I cant get it within the range of x=.313 y=.329. If I lower the contrast down until the Y value is about 10, I can easily ajust red and blue to be right on the range. What am I doing wrong? Or, is this normal for the Marquee 8000? I already talked to Cliff at Progressive Labs. he was not very helpful with this matter. He said he doesn't know what the problem might be.
Thank you
Darren

What's the board number on your VIM?
If you have a 50-2005-03P (VIM), the problem you're having is normal.

Mike,
I'll have to check. If I do have that, is there still a way I can calibrate it?
Thank you
Darren

Not really. The 50-2005-03P was all over the place when trying to calibrate. The tech data blames it on the use of non precison (1%) resistors in the video chain. So there's a tech bulletin that suggest replacing a bunch of resistors all over the board to improve on this problem. Some however were not as bad, but if you have the '2005' the fix would be to upgrade to either 50-2035-02P or 50-2035-03P.

Thanks,
Upgrading the VIM to one of those. Is that merely removal of the old board and insertion of the new one. Is there any other hardware that needs to be changed?

Think it is just a board swap Darren.
