With those very big screens it is as stepping into a world when watching a movie. Super!

Exactly! I'm really wondering how I lived for 7 years not having an HT set up. Very Happy

And.. now that fall is here, CRT sales have really picked up again. 6 sold in the last month. I think I sold one over the entire summer. CRT..... far from dead! Thumbs Up

I know for sure that CRT offers the best image available. Even 4k will not drag me away from my CRT Smile

It is funny. I am starting to notice the black level on my JVC more and more. It isn't horrible, but I do see it. I would be curious to know what on/off cr I am getting. I have read anywhere between 11k to 1 and 30k to 1 with the RS25.

You should see the blacklevel on a Mike Parker modified Marquee! Really I am not bullshitting it is beating everything. But the 909 is very good to of cause. In very bright scenes I prefer the 909 famillie at this point certainly when it is a tripple stack that must be very very bright.

I see the black or grey on my JVC x500 ( RS49) . CRT still better in that department.

Ummm, I have.

Nash,
Do you use your JVC a lot or a little? Do you use the blend for just movies or more than that? Rocco called me a couple of weeks ago and said he was going to buy a JVC for everything but movies. He was going to use the blend for movies. Unfortunately, he ran into some problems with a person that has been mentioned in this post. Not sure what is going on with his Marquees at this moment.

You know, I have a few spare 420w xenon lamps, but they aren't the same style as the ones the VW100/200 uses, keep an eye out on ebay if you can, they do come up cheap from time to time. Also try searching for it under "Luxtel", "Cermax" or "Excelitas" - I have better luck with those terms than with using the Sony model Thumbs Up

How's Rocco doing? Was just thinking about him a couple days ago when I was working on the Runco 5000D he sold me, which I finally got running properly again (off tangent, but what a nice image!!). Hope he's doing well Smile Thumbs Up

I spoke to him about a month ago and he is doing great. Well, except for his Marquees. He ran into some issues, but he hopes to get them worked out.
