It worked last time I tured it on one year ago but now the image (all tubes) flashes on-off every second. Menues are shown correct when the image is on.

Board 1089195 have a red LED flashing at the same rate. All G2-LEDs appear green.

I'll try to post a video and some photos if it helps.

I have the service manual for 1209s and the red LED D40 on the Sync+Vertical deflection board is comming from the coincidence detector.

What does this mean?

I have fiddled around some more today with this and depending on resolution, the flashing changes frequently slightly and goes away slowly as the projector heats up after a few minutes.

Any clues?

Does the internal test pattern flash as well, or is it solid? What does the internal test pattern do if you disconnect the input completely?

Freakin android! A few seconds of video becomes tens of MB and need third party apps to compress it.

Never seen that before, but it seems to only be the green tube doing it?

Try disconnecting the green CRT socket and HV lead, and see if the R and B tubes are OK. If so, try swapping CRT sockets/video amps between tubes. If it stays with the green tube, it could be an issue on the G2 board, one of the two video switching/quad decoder boards, or worst case, the tube.

It's all three flashing synchronous.

I filmed straight into the green tube since it isn't set up yet.

OK, then disconnect the tubes one at a time, the CRT socket and the HV lead.

I have seen this a couple of times in a planetarium, but when in the G2 setup mode, which the 1209 doesn't have. The set would flash, and it was due to low emission of the tubes, that sent the G2 setup into spasms. I have not seen this in a 1209.

All I can tell you is that it appears to be video related, and not HV related.

So what does D40/coincidence detector mean since it indicates this along with the flashes?

It means it is losing sync, but that doesn't explain the flashing.

I have lots of parts for the 1208/1209 for cheap, I can put together a box of them if you want. Shipping might run $100 or so, plus another $100 or so for the boards.

That would be great! Problem is getting worse. It refuses to sync to anything now before it heats up (~5 mins).

Try swapping the switcher card.

RGB switcher board R762720? Are they in any shapre or form compatible with the same from 80x-series or 120xs-versions but with slightly different number?

Someone asked the very same question on AVS http://www.avsforum.com/forum/16-crt-projectors/845438-parts-list-barco-graphics-1209s.html#post10502887, which might even have been _my_ projector ten years ago since it came from there. No answer though...
