I can score one of these for cheap but it has a wide line down the left side. Anyone know of an easy repair?

That's a plasmamama. Buy at your own risk. 
Most likely a bad logic board. If you do buy it and want to try to fix it and want to get a board off Ebay, go by the numbers on the board, not by the model number. Most bone heads selling boards on there have no idea of what they are selling and may have a wrong model listed. So go by board number and image comparison.
