As the subject says... picked this 50" plasma up e-waste, majority of the problems with this model point to bad Y-sustain which is relatively simple to trace/fix; however this one is different:

Immediatley upon plug-in the PS board gets the 5V standby from the Main board and fires up - two main relays clicking, get a brief flash of light from one side of the screen, the little curvy light bar at the bottom corner goes from red to blue then it goes dark. All the PS voltages (17, 5, 12, Vs, Va ) etc look ok. There are two LEDs on the t-con that are flashing green.

In that state the power button on the side is inoperative, however if i leave it plugged in, after a few minutes the set shuts off (relays on PS board click), and THEN the power button works to power it on but it does the same as above.

Samsung service manual under "power up boot fail" says to check for 3.3V on the Main board, etc which was all ok, but it ends with "Check Flash Memory IC 204 " ....which of course is a bit of a dead end , unless i have a replacement or logic analyzer...

To me this sounds like the main board is pooched...thoughts ? ( wanted to get second opinion before spending $90 on one)

Thanks!
...Dave
