Hi Casey.
Yes I did see the ad for the Cine 7, but did not imagine that would be considered as an upgrade from my point of view, but I was wondering about the Quad, EHT and splitter, but did not know whether they would be of any use to me, also with regard to the HD145 (I assume that the Cine7 is a 7" machine), in which case the lenses would fit that machine without any mods as the lens bases would be correspondingly smaller to suit the 7" tubes (yes/no?)
Will have another look at it although I think I might have emptied the coffers somewhat with the Canadian purchase, but It was absolutely essential to get back up and running again,
I will check in on you later
Regards
Trev
PS: hope you are begining to feel better as the days pass

Get the lenses for the upgrade bit right? I presume the Cine 8 is filtered already - is that at the lenses?
Yes Trevor you'll need adapter plates to fit the HD-145s to the Cine 8. I'm thinking of doing the same here to my Graphics 808. I'd make my own plates from plastic or mdf.

Trev, unzip the soft to your desired map and try to install it with diagnostic startup. Click start and type msconfig in the search box, than enter. On the general tab, select diagnostic start up and restart. Try than to install and don't forget to select normal start up after installation.
Oh yeah, another tip : a guy from Point Cook (Seabrook) is selling his non working Cine 7 for 100 AUD on the bay AU.
Quad, splitter and colour filtered HD145 if you want to upgrade. |
Ok, NOW i see where the Cine 7 came in!!
$100 AUD for a non working Cine 7 is f***en highway robbery, you can buy a working XG for $150 here when they come up.

Yepp, that was me...
Ofcourse Cine 7 is a 7" ES machine. I was only saying quad, splitter and lenses for 100 bucks could be right. I remember Trev talking about changing his non colour filtered HD8's with colour filtered HD145's. It was not about downgrading to Cine 7, size do matters guys....
@ Trev
I don't recall if you already mensioned the part nr. of the splitter in the Cine 8. It is R762718 right ? Because if is the old style R7617447, the quads will keep oscillating and get warm.

Yeah mate i knew you meant all those items, but he allready has a good set of HD-145s there, and a non working Cine 7 may not have a working HV section
The fact is though, $100 is a rort for a Cine 7 here that isnt perfect, its just a fact. I know and respect what youre saying Hulio, but it's the principle!! $100 for a dead Barco to 'maybe' get a quad and splitter, VS a few more bucks and get a much better CRT in working order, or buy known good parts.
If the Cine 7 was $20, absolutely, if it was $50, maybe, if we knew the owner and it could be vouched for, even better, if Trevor was a retro gamer that could sure make good use out of a 7" ES focusing set for some 15.7kHz RGB action, possibly, but $100 for another boat anchor, and Trevor doesnt even have a boat!!

Ok Hulio, I now understand what you were getting at, Firstly I already have a set of HD 145 color corrected lenses, it's the adapter plate problem I have to deal with.
the splitter I did change with the one out of the BG 808 to test it against the CINE 8, it seemed OK in the CINE 8 so I have left it in there, but maybe if the numbers do not add up I should possibly change it back to the original, I suppose that because there seems to be a selection of non original parts/boards in this thing, that even the one that I took out might not be original either.
At this point I do not know the part numbers on either one, I will pull them out and have a look, but because of a previous post it was mentioned that all the splitters were pretty much compatible with all these projectors, but now after reading what you have said I shall check
As far as the CINE 7 goes I did not know whether the Quad would have been of any use to me, and obviously I have no idea as to the usefulness of any other parts in the CINE 7, but will keep you informed as to the pedigree of the splitters.
Thanks Hulio
Regards
Trev

Hulio,
In fact the splitter that I took out of the CINE 8 has what I think is the old number which reads: 7617447 / 5 / 9441
That is the complete line of numbers,There is NO "R" prefix
So now I am wondering what number I might find on the Splitter (currently installed) in the CINE 8 (Ex BG 808) I cannot imagine that it will in any way correspond to the numbers you have mentioned, that being the case then it would suggest that I have a further possible issue to deal with??

A boat???.................................I don't even have a trailer, or a towbar !!!!
But there is a Catamaran in the docks in Melbourne which I think will be going very, very cheap Could be a good buy there, as far as I can see the only thing wrong with it is the fact that 3 days ago it burnt to the waterline...........but it is still afloat, what do ya reckon Casey..........................should I dump the projector idea and become a boat owner ???!!!!!

Forget Barco's, get that boat ( now the spanish forum members are confuse as hell, barco means boat in spanish ).
I take a long holiday, we pick up Case and fix that boat. I'll love to see the Gold Coast again...
About the splitter : 7617447 is a NO GO with the new style quad, EHT and chassis. That's why your second quad got smoked too.

The CM100? I have that very mount
Trevor needs to know which splitter number to use!
Trevor, are both those splitters you have there of the same number?

I have 2 splitters one each from the Cine 8 and one from the BG 808 the id',s and original locations are as follows:
CINE 8 splitter no: 7617447/5
BG 808 splitter no: 7617447/2
Original Quad installation.
CINE 8 Quad no: R 762717 (Burned as in posts on page 2)
BG 808 Quad no: R 7622091 (metallic burning smell--no visible damage) when installed in CINE 8
with Splitter no:7617447/2
Original burnout combination numbers in Cine 8 Quad=R762717 + Splitter 7617447/5
Original combination numbers in BG 808 Quad =R7622091 + splitter 7617447/2 (these 2 worked fine in BG 808)
