Well it was the forum members deal and that was halve the ebay price Wink So yess it is a super deal and I would recommend everyone to get the others as a forum member. Off cause there was some extra for the spare parts the moome and the fanmod.

This is a picture of the sweat. It seems that the screw is already corroding but the sweat is very little. This strange scheimpflug housing hides the sweat from the top. I happened to find it when I was trying to carry the projector up the stairs and my hands where on the sides of the bellows my fingers felt some wet stuff.

Christmas is early this year! Smile

Did all the boards fit but the back plate in one box? Looks like 2 boxes only with all of it.

Yes seems to be all there except the backplane. There is an Acon camera I will not use and a color modulation that I won't use unless someone says different.

It seems the CLM has some newer versions on some chips. Might try it if there is new software on it or something?

He did a rough setup with reasonable optics and phosphor use and some convergence. Have to find the focus and astig controls but did a global focus. The result was already very close to the Barco Very Happy The one on one was not perfect, little better than the Barco still.

But I have to be honest. I know this remote Very Happy I find it way easier to do the setup and the fan noise is constant and lower than the Max. Still nothing final yet just a good feeling Wink

What fans are running on it and can you sense as how silently they are as opposed to the once I posted on youtube?

I had this idea, that I should incorporate a thick layer of sponge on the LVPS, and like 3 inches wide and have the fans running deep inside it and making it far less audible. I'm going to try that some day @ full blast and 12V.

Same goes for the belly fans as there is plenty of room.

I can't get over how good that chassis look! Just beautiful and mean looking at the same time.

Yes probable. I want to hang the Vision on the ceiling already. Nice feeling to push the button and every time she starts and no fans that begin to spin louder and louder. Some easy test material under a button, one other button to switch collors not all these menu's you have to go deep into. Very quieting easy feeling.

I got a first head ache during the former setup because the green raster was not in the middle of the tube. Now I corrected that in the Convergence service menu by shifting the middel of green. Is this the right way? I remember reading something about the Yoke ring and centring the raster with the focus yoke? Might also be bad astig?

And the coils on the HDM do they have to be adjusted for vertical size of blue and red or just use the menu's?

You did it the right way.

Ok. Was it not on the Nec that we needed centering rings?

Indeed, earlier NECs had centering rings, but with XGs, and on some late PG xtras they were replaced with electronic coils (set from menu), made them more convenient.

dynamic raster centering on the marquee is actually done through the deflection yokes, not the convergence coil, the CVA onloy handles the zones. There's nothing really "wrong" with doing this IMO, although the perfectionists will oscillate the focus coil to center it, which in turn affects flare, so you go back and forth. I don't mess with the focus coil if it's close, if you zero out convergence and it's way off then yes, move the coil around.

vertical is menu only, and has to be done after the anamorphic squeeze mod. the coils on the HDM are for Horizontal and you need a palstic tool, NO metal. Also remember to fed the PJ a high scan signal and adjust the coils without the red tips for hi-scan.
I have a "yoke alignment for dummies " I wrote for marquee if you want to look at it

Ok clear. I was afraid to overload the convergence causing drift but you explained that shifting the center is done in the deflection yoke. Do I understand that to center the rast with the astig magnets and the focus yoke I would have to move the focus yoke forward and backward while doing astig? I think I might do it that way to not stress any electronics.

Ok clear too. The coils are for the width.

I would like the dummies guide because it seems pretty advanced to me Very Happy

When I zero the green convergence green is off the tube just over one edge. Does this mean this crt has a terrible setup? Pfff I have to know how to move the focus coil I guess.

And something more to worry about. There is a bright dot on the bottom of the raster on all three colours. Switching the projector off and on shifts the dot to a corner and than back again.

Thanks I found it. Adding a 570pf cap to a resistor. This Marquee is indeed prior 2000 says the menu. Makes me wonder if it is an ultra? Can someone tell from the boards?

yeah post pics of the focus( should say FGM not FCM) and of the rear heat sinks and the DPB on the CLM.
