Its hard to play with you as you most of the time wont go in dept, as you dont have the time, your sick, or uses a wrong pattern, so i think that some of the other guys will be better and more serious.
There is a lot of interesting tests to do to map the different kind of performance, and you did only scratch the surface, i still doubt you understand how to evaluate the SMPTE pattern. So no reason to move on to other patterns and other kind of issues normal with CRT.
When modding, or changing boards, its quite important to understand what it did, and how it effects the image, as you sometimes gain on some parameters and looses more on others if your not careful.
You can indeed make the projector perform worse with a high bandwidth DAC board, and it would be interesting how the 909 behaves to the new Moome card, if it compares to the G90 behavior or.?
It takes someone with a good part of passion and open mind to find out. And it seems like some of the other guys have that.
Thats why i often ask the same question again if your the only one replying. I simply dont need to know how sick you are, or how much you work and so on.. Im interested in how the 909 behaves.

So go and buy one.... The fact no one else replies to your repeated questions should tell you something... Maybe theyre waiting for you to buy one and test for yourself while they watch movies???

Hi all you crt people.
Im having problems to get any picture att all from my barco-full hd input card.
my setup is oppo93-iscanvp50-barco1209se.
I have tryed 1080p, 1080i, 800p@48 (im having a 2,35:1 screen so this my main resolution) but no picture at all.
When using my moome ext.v3 card to port5 and 3(w/original port3 card) i have picture.
The red leds on the port3 control kit shows witch of the 4 hdmi:s i choose.
A couple of red leds is lit lower down on the new barco-full hd card and the first green led (next to the red"IR"led) on the
first row also is lit.
On the RGB-switcher bord a small green led "port3" is lit when i choose port 3 but no picture
and "RGB" is lit when i choose port5 and there i have picture (from moome ext v3).
I have tryed three different hdmi cables.
Now i guess im doing something wrong or missed some setting but i cant figure out what.
Maybe someone outthere can tell me what im doing wrong/not doing at all.

I had simular issues, it took a long time for my OPPO to show an image on screen even though it had linked up. No idea why.
Try another HDMI port and see if that helps.
Press 5 on the Barco then go back to 3, get the right HDMI on, the MOOME should beep when you press a button.
I watched Skyfall on my CineMAX last night, its a huge improvement over the old V3 EXT box.

hahaha.. At the moment I'm too busy with work, and I agree with Case. every time I post 1:1 pictures there are 2 scenarios 1) you (Kurt) don't say anything about it 2) you'll bashing the barco 909 that it is worthless not capable to do any more than 720p etc. etc.
This is also a reason that I don't feel like responding to your repeating questions about 1:1 SMPTE 5% ire patterns etc. CIR stated a few very worth full things about image quality. Lets focus on total image and not BW alone.
Don't get me wrong I do have you high regarding analyzing SMPTE and crt technology.
By the way I found the right porch settings for 1920x1080 @ 72hz pixel clock stunning 191Mhz

You guys are so sensitive.
Im not bashing the 909, at least thats not my plan, but facts is facts, and i still never seen any evidence resolving 720P 60hz right.
I know bandwidth is not all.. Trust me i might be the one in here running my CRT the most watching movies.
My intention is a bit to open your eyes, if you would just play along, as it seems that all these standard 9" projectors have more or less the same problems from factory, and as i try to explain to Case, you guys did just scratch the surface testing different parameters/ performance true the video chain.
I know what Craig is saying, and to that i can only ansver i think he is right from his reference point, he simply never entered the next level of performance, so he will have a hard time, just as you guys understanding what this is all about.
I still miss to see a standard CRT display any details at low level, they can go black and drop all details, or crank up brightness and look like a DLP, some part of it has a lot to do with bandwidth, some with noise and DC stability.
It would be fun if you guys would like to play along, but if you feel better not knowing how CRT really sucks.. Then keep on beliving..

I had a similar problem and was able to change the HV sync by first selecting "D" on the remote, then selecting "Display" to actually change the sync. I believe the Barcos are native negative sync and I was changing this setup to positive but not sure. Take a look at the owners manual for the Barco HD.

So ill ask again... Why don't you buy your own Cine 9???
In one breath you complain none of us want to play along and none of us understand what we're doing, then in the next breath you ask 10 more times for us to post images so you can tell us again how our projectors are sh*t and yours is better.
I don't think im the only one that is sick of it, if you want to see what it can do, BUY YOUR OWN AND TEST FOR YOURSELF.
Til you do, dont bother asking.

I was glad he asked and opened some new way of thinking that Mike Parker is 100% confirming. Mike thinks a 909 is no match to a modified Marquee. I tend to think that that is the way it is and I am very glad that one of the competitors is going so strong. Francisco would have never gone for all the modifications if he did not know this about bandwidth because we all know that 1080p@72 looks terrible soft on a Barco. But now that the Marquee is there the Barco came further too. So don't be sick of a litle competition game. Both sides get better in the end that is my opinion. Just don't kill eachother because you need eachother Thanks Kurt!

Thanks for the kind words..
The main problem seems to be that many protect thair projector like a family member, so any debate or questions will quite often result in that someone takes it personal.
I have no problem picking on my own gear, its not about my stuff is better than yours, i think a forum is ment for arguing the different points, focus on the object and see it from different perspektives, and that dont go to well with sensitive skin and tunnel vision.
If i stumble over a dirt cheap 909 ill drag it with me, but for now i dont have any desire for any more low resolution projectors, i already have a G90 and 4 Marquee projectors who will look like a CRT look.
Everybody in here know that everybody wants to have a 909, at least for the lenses and focus coils.
So everyone with a Marquee might pay around 300-400$ for a 909 just to get those parts.
Playing along might benefit us all, as knowing the weak and strong sides of each kind of projector can help understand whats going on and compensate or find the right compromise.
And Case, as long as you cry like a scool girl its hard not to tease you just a bit more.
Jump on the horse and ride along, also if you only have a donkey..

Hi!
I tryed to change the output sync polarity and finaly i got picture, so thank you for youre help.
Is there a way to make it memorize the setting because it loses the setting when i turn the projector off,
so i dont have to do the polarity everytime.

I do not know how to make that setting stick, email Moome and ask (moome.liu@gmail.com)

Kurt is not stating anyone's PJ is sh*t. Rather he's asking for some screen shots to confirm IF the new card makes any objective difference. There are claims thrown around about performance but not always objective proof to back it up. Knowing Kurt as I do, he'd dump the Marquee tomorrow if he found something better. He is always pushing the envelope (maybe too much sometimes ) to find the limits of CRT technology. How many people do you know who have multiple MArquees, a decent JVC digital and a G90 all ready to be fired up at a moments notice for comparison? If Kurt only owned a Marquee you could say he is biased, but that is clearly not the case.
The purpose is not to compare the Marquee to the 909, rather to see what the 909 is objectively capable of with this new HDMI board.

Justin what im really sick of, and i know im not the only one, is that he comes in here and asks but the minute someone does post anything up he discredits it and asks for someone else to post their images intead. The minute i say "do your own testing" and ask that question a number of times, he claims im having a cry. its very laughable, like as if ive got nothing in my life of interest but my CineMAX...
Then he comes along and claims im crying like a school girl? Get f***en real, why would i give a damn what he reckons? Anyone that is that stupid to think someone like me is going to give a hoot what ANYONE here thinks of me let alone get upset over the opinions of those that are quite honestly none of my business and i sure as sh*t wont lose any sleep over it, i think its pretty funny that some people might be that vain, but anyway, to each their own Im just sick of him coming here asking for this sh*t then ignoring what is posted, and yet he wont go and test it himself.
If he would divert his skills to his own testing id have absolutely no issue with anything he says. It only took him 4 goes to finally answer the question about why he doesnt test for himself. If he doesnt want to test for himself, why does he care? If he wont take the results given, why even ask? I dont see any one here lining up to offer their testing times!!
At no point do i say he is biased, i thought id made that quite clear. Im also not about to kiss his feet because he owns all that equipment and has the skills to make them all about as good as they get. Good for him. Im all for listening, but if he isnt going to test for himself, why bother asking twenty times and getting the same results?
None of it is of any benefit to anyone here at all, those of us that have these machines and have made changes along the way can CLEARLY see an improvement, and i for one couldnt care less about Kurt's opinion when he hasnt done any of his own testing.

So far have not been able to get the 3D to work using the nVidia kit, I can get it to display in 3D both in HDMI Checkerboard and also in the other 720p60Hz mode ( obviously cant use 1080p24Hz ) but the nVidia emitter wont out put a sync signal even when connected to the output of the MOOME card because that isn't how nVidia want it to work, you must use the emitter in the TV or another emitter.... If there was a way to force the control panel to allow 3D type to be set on "Generic DLP" it would work fine with all the 3D vision kit, but I couldn't force that no matter what I did, its been done in the past a few times and they have patched over it with each update.
I tried using the Sega wired 3D glasses, and they don't work, but they do react when connected to the emitter output, so there is a chance using a modern emitter will be no issue. Id say the Sega glasses either cant react fast enough ( they went quite dark, and although you could still see through, they weren't shutting right off ) or they require more power than the MOOME card puts out.
This is all a lot further than I ever got with the V3 EXT box, nothing I tried there would get the 3D to work at all, I couldn't even get it to display 3D on the screen.
I have just bought a Fury 4S and some glasses and emitter, im expecting the RF emitter will probably work straight up in the MOOME card 3D output, if so, anyone not wanting the features of the Fury 4S ( which looks to be quite well worth the money anyway ) could probably just get away with the IR emitter and glasses ( the glasses work from 48Hz up to 144Hz and have all kinds of adjustments for timing etc )

Depends where it's going. About a week or so to North America.
Kal |
Ok, I live in The Netherlands, so I suppose a week or so would be the time to take into account.
I am very excited about the promised image quality.
I had a BG801s with 'the Frenchman' DVI-BG box
Looking forward to install this card into my new BG808s with recently replaced tubes. The former owner installed new tubes via Barco Belgium.
