..and i dont mean the thing that happens with the red beam when closing the deflection board..i know dat)

after centering all 3 tubes, alligning the red tube according to the deflection board closing phenomen, all was fine. but after having the projector closed completely now, everything is slightly out of allignment again. dont want to redo the centering AGAIN, after spendig about 10 houres with mechanical centering and astig allignment. can i center the crosses electrical now? - which funktion does that in the nec menue please?

thanks lg c. Rolling Eyes

Its easy.

With the lid closed, adjust the static convergence until all are perfectly centered. Open the lid, open the DEF board, then re-center the magnets, then close the DEF board and lid, set static back to zero and it should all be perfect.

The goal is the image is dead center of the tube faces with static convergence set to zero. Making the raster dead center is fine, assuming the active image is dead center of the raster, which it wont always be, i i dont reckon dead center of the raster is the best position for the active image either. Slightly lower and moved slight right of center will potentially get you a more stable image, depending on the image size in relation to raster size.

When you do your primary set up, it should be done using the resolution you intend to use most, and before any serious efforts are made, the PHASE setting should be done and corecct. This will ensure all other resolutions can then be based on this default signal entry, and when phase is set on a new entry the convergence should be almost perfectly aligned, requiring only very minor changes.
