I can't really speak for brands of blank BD discs to burn, Memorex and verbatim have been good to me, but that doesn't mean anything.
You need Dual layer BDs (50GB) for anything in the 25-50GB range, they do make BDXL discs, but you need to have a burner that can burn 100GB triple layer discs.

Don,
Buy these discs from this seller:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0056DV0L4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I have bought 250 discs from him over the past two years.
They are Japan branded Verbatim BD-DL discs that are imported by the seller into the USA. They are shipped from Amazon Prime from inside the USA. Other sellers will have the Japan branded discs for less money, but they are shipped from Japan and take forever to arrive. Also, you will likely have to pay import duties when the discs are shipped from Japan and the duties are so high that you may as well have just bought USA branded discs at a box store.
For the same exact discs branded for sale in the USA you will pay 3-5x the amount of money as these, and they are identical except for the language written on the package. These are top quality discs and you won't find better.

Also, Amazon says he only had five cakes left so order fast. That being said, when he runs out he usually gets new stock pretty quickly and each time the price drops a few dollars. I think the first cake I bought way back was around $175 (at Microcenter the same cake was something like $450).
