Hi,
This is what I did 4 times already (BG801s and Marquee at home and BG808 and Marquee at friend's homes):
- Remove the lenses
- Remove all boards
- Remove the tubes
- Remove other heavy mechanical parts
- Lift and mount the now much lighter empty body onto the ceiling
- Reinstall other heavy mechanical parts
- Reinstall the tubes
- Reinstall the boards
- Reinstall the lenses
- Perform a complete mechanical alignment
- Perform a complete electrical alignment
Two of these I did all by myself!
Regards,

That, or use a block and tackle and use the mechanical advantage gained from it.

You can search for a CM-100 if it's a Barco.

I used the chain method detailed quite a bit around here - four chains, one in each corner of the projector. Got four carabiners, and used them to raise each corner a couple links at a time. When you get to the top, you might still need a bit of help with the last couple of inches, I had a friend hold up a side of the projector while I got two bolts started in my mount, then did the same with the other side. At least at that point the projector is still supported if it were to fall, still has half the weight supported when your friend is holding it, and will only 'drop' two inches or so if he slips.

Sorry, but what's so hard about 2-3 people and 2 ladders, with a short ladder for the third guy to catch it if it falls?
I've done 100s with 2 guys, and with 9" sets, I use 3 or 4, and take the lenses off.
Time to work on muscles, and putting up the PG is the easiest way to do so!

I hung chains from my unistrut:
...and then used Clarence's chain-hoist idea: (I used a plywood platform with long hooks to attach the chains)
I can take my 8500 from "on the floor" to "off the chains, hooked into the mount" in 20 minutes, by myself.

I've done the chains and unistrut method all by myself and it worked fine on both a PG6 and a Sony D50. Remove just the 3 lenses, it's easy enough and really helps lighten the load. Plus you'll be able to see the tube faces for setup once it's in place.
I did the ladder method this last time with the PG6 because it was mounting to a high ceiling and that worked with just 2 guys.

Hire a trasmission jack. Put the projector on that and pump up the jack. You could almost do the whole job on your own.
