Id say she is allready doing 60Hz, that is the standard output from bluray players when you select 1080i

I'm going to go with changing the Hz and see what that does.
Well, at least I know the guns are good and strong.
As far as distance, I noticed it at about 7 feet from the screen.
Also, central objects seem to be fine.
I'm wondering if it isn't, in fact Blu-Ray that is making it unhappy.
I will say that with each "tweak" it does get better and better.

On a side note, I am rapidly becoming the only person within a 50 mile radius in a small city who can tune a C.R.T. projector.
There is one establishment that kept telling me to junk the Barco.
Needless to say they are idiots.

"C.R.T.
The Harley-Davidson of video projection."

No, i dont think its fair to put CRT projectors in the same light as a Harley... They are not even close to that bad.

Have you tried using a computer and feeding the projector 1080i from that? What digital to analog converter are you using? Which input? 3 or 5?

TV/Projector: Barco BG809s

With CRT projectors you have to go back to basics and setup from scratch. You need to learn how to do a setup from the ground up.
Mechanical adjustments, electrical voltage checks and finally electronic setup.

BG 808s is great for 1080i/60/72/96 or 720p/60. It will go higher but quality of image will suffer.

I've learned.
And frankly, it was worth the time and patience.
I'm probably not likely to go with Blu-Ray (despite what folks say), but the quality at 1080i is very nice.
When I think of how crappy the quality of LCD projectors are, I just want to laugh.
Yes, you CAN use them right out of the box, but they won't last as long, have trouble with true black and are nowhere near as sharp.
Also the Barco can deal with a certain amount of ambient lighting and still produce a picture.
I remember the Kloss NovaBeam and am amazed by how far we've come.

As well, C.R.T. projection technology has some amazing applications.
Next time you go to Disney World, remember "Fantasmic"'s 3D animation is being broadcast using C.R.T. driver technology hooked up to Red, Green and Blue lasers and projected on a "mist" backdrop.

Rolling Eyes

Wait, you're right. The Harleys aren't even close to that bad. Unlike the CRT projector, the Harley requires no setup, minimal maintenance, and is still a very desirable, sought-after product.

Some of the CRTs do leak like the old Harleys, though. Twisted Evil

You're dead right there Crabb, and as long as you have the ute ( or "pick up truck" to you yanks ) to follow you around im sure youll be fine every time you break down Laughing

Im yet to have to do ANY maintenance on a CRT, even repairs have been extremely minimal. Everyone i know with a Harley is always doing something to it... Good friend of mine used to work at the HD factory, then was modding them with better parts, now live in Australia and does them here. Not much about them he doesnt know Wink

Oh, lord. Outdated info, much? Harleys have been excellent build quality and as reliable as anything else for several decades now. I'll see your anecdotal "I know a guy" evidence and raise you… Personally, I've had no more trouble in 10 years with my Harley than I ever did with any of my Japanese bikes. My old man has racked up a boatload of miles on half a dozen Harleys over the last 20 years, including multi-thousand-km road trips with large groups and I don't think he or anybody in his group ever been left stranded once. People upgrade and mod just like they do with cars and other bikes. It's part of the culture.

Its all an ongoing joke over here Crabb, think nothing of it mate Wink

But yes, i do know a guy that is an expert in the field, although i know very little about them, and have no real interest in learning anything about them either. Bikes just dont interest me.
