The box must have been very roughly handled Sad The ceramics inside the necks got damaged in shipping. That can only happen if the box is dropped HARD.

Looks like we'll have to file a claim. I wonder how that will work between Oz and the USA.

Great just what we needed and after all your work putting them in and mine taking them out and packing. I really can't believe that they managed to damage those tubes with how well they were packed.

Yeah, it's similar to the one blue I got from you that had a cracked ceramic. I got a munch of 9" tubes from Greg once where the ceramics were destroyed in all of them. Other than that, I have had good results with shipping tubes.

That box must have been dropped really hard. You should have seen the different layers of packing materials I had in there.

I'm really bummed out about this.

Curt, can you give me a call when you have a chance. I want to ask you something about the insurance claim on these and I know you have a lot of experience with that.

Thanks,
craigr

I dont have much time at the moment cause im running abit behing here, but yes there was a HUGE effort that went into the packing of these tubes, very little chance the job couldve been done better. As seem in an earlier pic in this thread, that was only one layer of the many used!!

I will email you some pics of the tube necks Craig as well as good necks, i will check the box again, but i saw no sign of damage to that at all.

Curt, what housings are those tubes in? I really didnt want to have to remove my other good tubes from their AC housings to switch them to my LC housings.

While i was doing some further investigation prior to removal, i had contrast and brightness down near zero, the blue phosphor obviously has particles of broken off stuff on it, yet it cant be seen when the face is lit with a torch.

If nothing else, i did a full AC-LC tube and mounting plate swap in 3 hours on the ceiling, thats not a bad effort Wink

I have wondered if they still sell tubes since the digital craze went in full effect

Case, who did you talk to and when? VDC's tube division shut down about 18 months ago, they threw out 60,000 tubes. Mainly consumer stuff I'd think, but unless stock got transferred to Florida, it's all gone now.
